Hey everyone,

First time here. 28 years old, Virgin been struggling with Peyronies Disease since I was 19 no Idea what caused it. It has been kind of weird. Went to the best specialist in the country five or six years ago but haven't done a lot since. I had depression and the meds killed all my desire and sex drive. It is most painful just below the tip. Curve is two the right and up. Well I went on new anti-depressants and the desire is back but the pain is back as well. The pain has been gone for 4 years even when I masturbated. I want a family more than anything, I am terrified it is getting worse, terrified i won't have kids and am just now getting serious about dating because I have got  a lot more confidence then I did in the past. Has anyone else been a Virgin with it, I feel that is even worse because I don't have as much experience to even know what sex should be. and how do you bring that up? Thanks.

Age? 28
What did your medical doctor conclude? Fredericton Urologist called it Peyronies. I have never done a baseline measurements with any Dr. or on my own
How long have you had symptoms? since I was 19
What are your symptoms? pain in the base, pain at the tip just underneath the head, a curve of I don't know how much to the right first and later up
What treatments have you tried and what were the results?12 injections of verapamil no change. Dr. Brock in London Ontario did a ultrasound and heart test, put me on Cialis, I did that for 2 years and seemed to work. did not go back and have had 0 follow up
Do you have insurance or means to get medical treatment? yes
where are you in dealing with the psychological aspects of Peyronies Disease? I understand that it is what it is and loving relationships will make it work. I have avoided relationships do to how much it messes with your head and I have not really talked about it with anyone professionally.
Are you in a relationship? Heck no but actively looking to date for the last two months.

Sandy,

You said that Cialis seemed to work. So, if it worked, has your curvature come back? Being in London, ONT, you should be in a large enough market to have a urologist that specializes in Pyronies. Pentox is a common pharmaceutical treatment, which I am taking, along with traction. VED is also something that is used with success. There are two injection therapies other than verapamil in use, PRP and Xiaflex that would be combined with traction and/or VED. You have options, but you can't just ignore this issue because it won't go away ignoring the problem.

Hey, It didn't take it away completely. I am not in London which sucks, i am in Halifax and the closest of the urologists on the list postd here is a  16 hour drive away. I want a good person but the last guy I went too said "yeah so what do you want there is nothing more I can do." I will see what I can do,, but I had no idea these were even option before I came on here. thanks

There are many options on how to treat this dreaded thing.  Consider the various scar tissue softening supplements and medications along with circulation improvement meds.  Exercises to stretch any plaque as you soften it are important.

Sandy,
There may be a specialist in Halifax. While it isn't Montreal or Toronto, it may be large enough to have somebody. Your metro area has over 400,000 people, so I am betting that there is at least one URO out there that might have some training in Peyronies, if not, Montreal or Ottawa.

U.S. Bioservices, the outfit handling the distribution of Xiaflex, can tell you which doctors in your area are prescribing the drug.  They can tell you, if you cajole them, which doctors prescribe the most, i.e. have the most experience.  It seems that Xiaflex is the best we can do right now.  Find a doctor near you with the most prescriptions and go see him.  Then refer to this forum for info on how to do your "exercises", because the FDA-approved protocol is so conservative as to be nearly useless.  It IS possible to improve, but you must get the drug in there and aggressively "model" yourself.
