I have been diagnosed by a urologist to have peyronies for a little over a year now......he put me on vitamin E and verapamil cream.....no improvement....but worsening......I am now close to a 90 degree upward bend.......and I'm telling you....I have to be 3 inches shorter.......and I was only 6 and a half before this happened......on the slight bright side.....I can still get hard....and have an orgasm.....but it can't be trusted to have anything but slow gentle sex.......I'm devastated......and overwhelmed.......and it has made me beyond depressed.......Sadly.....after reading the internet......and going thru this site.....it just seems helpless

We all passed through this stage. Inept doctor urologist, lost time on improving health and in varying degrees tragedy some sort of life. But do not despair. There are many people with experience (each himself). You must first try to diagnose yourself what is the cause of your problem, and at what stage of the disease it is located now. From this depends on what you should do to himself.
Read carefully the forums and thought if what you're reading fits into your case, and if you can safe use it.
There are many techniques described here but you need to choose one that is right for you.
There is no one simple recipe for this disease. The best results, as I read, give the hybrid technology tailored to health and disease.

Nosexlife,

I suggest you go back to your urologist and have an ultrasound done to see if the plaque has calcified. Does your urologist specialize in Peyronies? There is a link on the home page of doctors that specialize in Peyronies. Not sure Vitamin E is going to do much. I am taking it too, but not because my URO suggested it. In fact, he said it is pretty much worthless, but inexpensive. I only paid $10 for a huge bottle at Costco. What has shown to be beneficial is penile traction and possible the use of a vacuum erection device, the latter at least for hourglassing. There is no quick fix for this. It takes time with traction and medication if that combination therapy is going to work. In my case I am on Pentox 400mg 3x a day, acetyl l carnitine 500 mg 2x a day and traction at least 4 hours a day in 2 hour. I am on this course for 4-5 months, after which time, I will go with either the PRP or Xiaflex injection with Traction and VED. My urologist, who specializes in Peyronies, at Walter Reed said the primary reason combination therapies don't work is most people aren't compliant on the minimum 4 hours on a traction device.

Look up Dr. Lawrence Levine in Chicago and watch what he has on YouTube as he is the top doctor in this field and he is all about traction and he does research with traction.

Good luck and don't get yourself into such a stupor that you give up. You have to the bull by the horns and have the mindset that you are going to kick the crap out of this problem with surgery being the last possible option.

All is not lost !!!

Check out my photos on the surgery thread, you will see I had a curve of between 90 &100 degrees.

It is repairable you just need to find a competent doctor

good luck

Happy to chat to anyone who would like more details of my journey so far, on here or on the phone

I'll second J-A on that. The same surgeon operated on me and I had an almost 90 degree curve too. I'm still healing and am only 8 weeks or so post surgery, but I'm healing well and my erections, although not back to normal size yet because of internal sutures and a need to stretch the grafted tissue, are at least straight again.

It is essential that you discover the extent of your plaque and if there is calcification. If you are still in the active phase, it may be possible to improve your condition. You need a Doppler ultrasound. Oh, and a competent urologist too!

Thanks Gentleman......I appreciate the responses......I've been diagnosed now for approx. 1 year.......so what I'm understanding from you is that once its gotten harder......recovering is less likely?

Does anyone know for sure if masturbating makes Peyronies worse?

Jonbinspain

Basically, the wait & see attitude, which is what many Urologists advise is the worst thing you can do. The earlier you catch this disease and fight back against the better chance you have of minimizing the damage.

As J-A and I pointed out, sometimes the only 'cure' for this disease is surgery. If you get to that point, come back and we'll try to advise you.

As far as I'm aware, normal masturbation will not make Peyronies worse.

I understand from your post that the treatment you are making is Vitamin E and Verapamil cream.
I am not surprised this treatment didn't arrested your Peyronies progression.
I am proposing you to start as soon as you can with VED, Pentox and low dose Cialis.
*Be careful with VED, don't over pump, read the protocols on the forum
* Pentox 3*400 mg per day
* As your erections are OK, 2.5 mg Cialis per day
