banded

I am 51, but noticed some banding in the middle of my penis about 2 years ago or so.  I was wondering if my wife and I had broke it somehow.  Finally I got the nerve to ask the Urologist this year when I was seeing him about a prostate infection.  He confirmed that it was Peyronies, but suggested we take a "wait and see" approach since I'm still very functional, and in no pain.  I didn't mind the banding too much as it seemed to make me larger and harder on the other two sides.   It was just like somebody had put a couple rubber bands around it.  I've grown concerned in the last couple weeks because I've noticed it is starting to bend up and now I'm concerned because if it keeps bending, intercourse will be impossible soon as an L won't work while the hourglass does.

Please, get to a COMPETENT urologist ASAP.  Waiting is the very worst thing you can do. This is extremely unlikely to resolve itself and needs treating now, or it will, in all likelihood, get worse. I don't wish to try and scare you, but the urologist you saw is incompetent. There is a list on this site, I sugfest you find one nearest you who is up to date with treating this affliction.

Hello Banded,

I would like to welcome you to the forum and hope we can make you feel at home here.

Unfortunately the "wait and see" method is not in your best interest. you have already lost 2 years of good therapy by not seeking help when you yourself first noticed the banding. I am going to suggest you look at our Urologist list and see if there is a specialist the treats Peyronies in your area https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,4063.0.html Our Survival guide is a great tool to aid you so you should have a look at that as well. Can you tell us if you have any other symptoms, any plaque build up, pain during intercourse or after and can you tell us the degree of the bend? these are all things that will help the men in the forum help you.

Please look around and ask as many questions as possible.

Hugs, Mamma
