Hello, I have been visiting and reading posts on this forum since April of 2015, I have found much of the information to be very valuable and I greatly appreciate the sharing of information.
My history:
- I am 49 years old, married for 24 years with one college-aged child
- I have been a type 1 diabetic for 39 years, but otherwise I would consider myself to be healthy and in good shape
- I first noticed a lump at the base of my penis (left side), roughly 3/4 of an inch long during June of 2014 while going to the bathroom
- I then noticed an extreme bend to the left when I had my next erection...I was stunned to say the least...I had no idea what this was
- I searched online under "bent penis" and all of a sudden I was well read regarding the subject of Peyronies disease...I had never heard of it before, and I was pannicking
- I was already experiencing some ED, my guess was that it was due to the long term diabetes...I was not very rigid during intercourse for the previous few months and would often "fall out" while having sex...I always had a mild bend to the left, therfore my penis would fold to the left when I would "fall out"...perhaps this caused the trama and the scarring...who really knows though
- I went to see my Primary Care Doctor for a physical in July-14...he confirmed the diagnosis, and said that there was no cure and maybe a few treatments available, but he was not well versed in Peyronies Disease, therefore he referred me to a urologist...weeks later I saw him and he also confirmed the diagnosis and pretty much shrugged and said he needed to send me to a specialist.  Months later I finally got in to see the Peyronies Disease urologist (North of Boston).  He is quite knowledagble, and put me on Pentox, COQ-10, etc., for 6 months.
- I started Xilaflex in February-15.  My curve was 85 degrees to the left, I believe I have lost at least one inch in length and some girth
- After the first 2 shots, the curve was measured to be ~ 80 degrees, basically no change, all stretching and bending has been done by me at home.  I had the second set of shots in April-15, the curve measured ~ 45 degrees 7 weeks later - I was very pleased, as was the doctor.  I also felt a bit better about myself and started to try to have sex again (it had been close to a year since the last time)...I tried 4 times, the last 2 were successful, but extremely arkward and it felt very strange, due to the bend (the doctor put me on Viagara after the second set of shots as well).  I had the third set of shots at the end of May-15, I go back for the final set in early August, but so far it seems as though my curve has not moved at all, still ~ 45 degrees and I seem to see a bit of an upward bend now as well...no change to the lost length or girth and the scar is still there, the same size and just as firm
- So, I go back  to the urologist in 3 weeks for the final shots...even if these last shots give me some relief, I assume I will still be 30 - 40 degrees bent with lost length.  I have lost so much confidence at this point, I am worried about causing more trama, and in the end I simply hate the way my penis looks and the way it feels during sex to me and my wife...I should mention that my wife has been very understanding and supportive so far; she knows that I am extremely private and therefore does not ask many questions unless I bring it up.  We have also dated/been married for ~ 30 years, so we were not as sexually active prior to the Peyronies Disease diagnosis as we were 5 - 10 years ago
- What is next?  The doctor seemed to wave off traction when I asked and said that VED may be useful but did not elaborate much.  The bottom line, I am so thankful that Xiaflex is available and I found a doctor nearby that is trained to administer it...but leaving his office with a 30-40 degree bend to the left with some upward bending and lost length seems less than acceptable to me - has anyone else finished Xiaflex and moved on to something else (traction, VED, etc.)?

It seems that you've been well advised and treated, that's more than many manage to obtain.

I would certainly try VED. It will help with blood fow into the penis, and may well help with the curvature, too. Don't expect instant progress though, it's a long slow process of daily pumping and releasing.

I would also add ALC, Citrulline Malate, and Cialis to your oral regime. Cialis can be used in low doses for daily use to help maintain healthy blood flow. And in normal doses for sex.

Sounds Like you had a pretty good result with Xiaflex. During the Xiaflex clinical trials they mentioned that both the control group and the placebo group were both undergoing penile remodelling with Traction or VED, so yes these are a good option to help improve length, girth and bend. If you google search for PEGYM or any alternative penis enhancement forum you will find that many guys have increased length, girth and reduced bend using various techniques. I have no experience with this sort of thing so I cannot confirm if the results some of these guys are getting are real? I would exercise caution. Maybe try emailing Xiaflex to find out what they used to 'remodel the penis'

Thank you both for your responses. I will discuss VED, traction and Cialis again with the Doctor when I see him in early August for my last round of shots. Appreciate the help!
