Hi everyone,

I thought I would start this 'new topic' to acquire advice on the best Doctors for Penile Implants.

In my case I have quite severe erectile dysfunction and I believe I have some Peyronie's disease / Venous Leakage / Penile Thombrosis. It's unique case - what I do know is my circulation / blood flow is very poor and gradually detriorating.

I need to find a good urologist (looking at private clinics in the states) to finally get the proper diagnosis and then evaluate the best treatment option. I am not going to assume that I should just go get a prosthetic device; however, I want to make sure that the Urologist I go to specializes in sexual medicine and is one of the aboslute best when it comes to Penile Implants (as if I go that route I know that the most important things is having a top doctor).

Based on my research the Ams Lgx Penile Implant would be the best for me - I am about 5 1/2 when fully erect and would like to not loose too much size, if possible.

Hope to hear from some implantees about who to go to or not to go to for advice.

FYI - In case this is useful information my 'story' can be found in further detail on some of my other posts. Also, I am 29 years old.

Thanks so much,

You won't find a tremendous amount of advice here, as relatively few of our members have exercised "the nuclear option" and gone bionic, but there is a website called "FT" that has a sub-forum exclusively devoted to implants, and they can quickly give you the handful of docs across the country who are considered "high volume" top-notch surgeons.

Comparatively, you'll find much more information there. Best of luck in your journey!

Hello Funny. I searched your older posts, in order to get to know a bit of your story, and was amazed that after so many years you still don't have a proper diagonisis. Maybe there is a good reason for that. But i definitely would try to have some proper exams done, at a reputable place in order to try to know exactly what i had, if it was my situation.

I saw some videos on youtube,  that might be of interest to you based on your storie...

Hi all -

Thank you for your feedback.

Here is a link to the dialogue / 'posting' that  I am using almost as a blog to track my progress / journey.

Pycnogenol + LArginine for Peyronie's disease - Peyronies Society Forums

I have huge ups and downs with regards to this health problem but don't feel that I am yet at a point where I should take the prosthetic route. Please let me know if you have feedback on this, particularly if one has gone this route before.

Of course depending on the day / week my problem feels better sometimes than other times. I have been using pycnogenol for a few weeks now and my private feels less irritated / more stable as far as blood flow than when I was using Cialis. I'd recommend checking out my link if you are interested. As the weeks / potentially months go on using this substance I will keep you updated on whether it has lasting effects in terms of ceasing the progression of or ideally mitigating my ED symptoms / organic causes.

All the best to all,

Another thought to anyone looking for info on best doctors is go to FT (this has been noted by other members in several posts on this website).

The sample of people who have underwent prosthetic surgery is much greater there and it has a wealth of information and reviews on most any prevelant penile prosthesis doctor out there. Depending on your circumstances (such as having peyronie's disease in most cases on this site I'd presume) you get reviews on FT from many doctors who have a focus in operating on folks with this problem.

I have had the implant surgery almost 3 months ago.  I was very depressed when I was diagnosed with Peyronies.  I tried VED and traction therapy, went for a round of Xiaflex, and basically had no improvement.  The Peyronies not only shrunk me to some degree, but also made erections almost impossible.

I decided to go for the implant surgery when the Xiaflex treatment fell through (with my insurance).  I went to see Dr. Andrew Kramer in Baltimore.  He was very positive and confident, as he is a high volume implanter on the east coast.  He understood my case completely and gave me lots of encouragement, both before and after surgery.  The first five weeks following surgery was painful and with anxiety about what I would look like.  I have to say that I am satisfied with the result thus far.  Although I haven't quite regained my original size, I seem to be well on my way, and have seen much improvement in the past 6 weeks.  I feel much better, and no longer have any of the throbbing pain and discomfort of the Peyronies.  Dr. Kramer restored the integrity of my penis, and I now feel hope and ready to get back out there.  Sure, things are different, but compared to what the Peyronies left me with, it was well worth the decision.

Glad to hear that. Having hope again is priceless. Dr Kramer is also very reputable based no what I keep on reading about him. Best of luck on the upcoming result! :-)

I had penile implant surgery last week at Wake Forest, in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Terlecki performed the operation. So far, things have gone very well, as far as the management of my surgery. It's still unknown by how much the extreme curvature of my penis, I thought 70 plus degrees, though doc's assessment was 45 degrees, has been reduced. Either way, the curvature does seem reduced. At it's unfurling at the 3 week appt with the doc in a week or so, the inflation of implant will be the proof in the pudding. On the subject of docs performing this procedure, Dr. Terlecki has been easy to work with, seems very competent from the viewpoint of my girlfriend, a licensed nurse. Overall the surgery was not a horrible experience. If it straightens my penis from it's non-usability status to a lesser degree of curvature that let's my penis do what it's supposed to do, it will be worth it.
