Calcification as a sideeffect from local injection with cortison?

Another step back  :'(..
One plaque from onset nov -13, another one nov -14. The plaque seems "coming anf going" somtetimes big and hard, sometimes you can hardly feel them. Left-upward bend slowly increasing, now about 35 degree. Since november-14 inflammation almost all the time, to the Uro twice, the second time a week ago he injected cortison (dont remember the name of the drug) into my biggest plaque. No problem with pain or swelling or anything BUT in 3-4 days the plaque have become rock hard and you can now see it right trough the thin skin behind the glans, as a white heart shaped plaque. Earlier it "stretch out" to a bigger hard area when erected, now it hase exactly the same shape when erected and i feel it extremly well and it "shines" right trough the skin???
Anyone experienced anything like that. Can a calcification progress be that fast?? My biggest fear is that i now longer will be a case for Xiaflex, in other words, now hope...

You must see a real Peyronies specialist.
I never heard of cortison injections for Peyronies, but you must know the name of the drug he injected.
Can't advice you one close to you because don't have country sign in your profile.

I live in sweden, i can se the swedish flag in my profile?
Belive me, i have googled, and searched for any uros interested in this disease, havent found one yet..
Anyway, in Sweden "it is the truth" among uros that there is nothing to do exept surgery if the bend is to bad...
I am very interest in the development with Xiapex, dont think they will pick it up in sweden but London is not to far. But with a hevay calcified plaque...
How do the uro decide if it is calcified or not?
The cortison injection localy whas to stop the inflammation that for me are present almost all the time.

Making an ultrasound, an experienced urologist can see if the plaque is calcified or not.
London is not far indeed, and you have Dr. Kuehass there.
Regarding calcified plaques and Xiaflex, we have some members that have reported good results. Calcified plaques were excluded from the trial, I know.
My plaques were calcified, but Pentox, low dose Cialis and VED softened them to the level that the PRP injections into the plaques were not a problem.

Hi Nord. My plaques were well calcified and I'm currently receiving the Xiaflex injections with good results. For me, it's soften the calcified plaque up and allowed for remodeling. My curve has been halved from 60 to 30 degrees with one more round of shots to go.  Don't give up. I waited patiently (6 years) for this treatment to become available here in the States and waited a while longer to see how real world results were.
