I am 21 years old and I have had my plaque for about a year and a half now. Uro suggested vitamin E and pretty much said it will work or it will not work that a$$hole. So it seems like it is stabile as nothing has changed really over the past year. All i have is a plaque just underneath the head on the left side which is smaller than a pea in size. its really only noticeable when erect and sometimes you can't even feel/see it when erect which is weird. There is only a very slight curve to the left. I am wondering if anyone thinks I will get additional symptoms as I age? I am currently taking ass loads of vitamin E, coq10, L arginine, and acetyl-l-carnitine.

Is it possible that since this plaque was due to an injury that i will never experience any other symptoms and this is as bad as its ever going to get? Its so hard to know what to do when the majority of Uros say, yea man whatever happens happens. They say its not life threatening? crap if i can't use my penis in 10 years that IS life threatening since at that point i will probably put myself out of my own misery. Sex is a VERY important part in every relationship from years 18-50 i would say/assume since I'm not that old yet.

If it is possible that i will experience further symptoms when do you think i will start seeing these? I hope to god almighty i don't experience the "wasting" penis or else ill have to waste myself. great pun.

For you guys, when did you start seeing any bottleneck or hourglass symptoms?

Any input will be huge for me, this is tearing me up inside where I spend more time reading peyronies boards than i do studying/eating/anything.

Please help

The truth it that it could get worse or could not. No way to tell. Also don't obsess and let this thing play with you mentally as well. Keeping check of your mental outlook is half the battle.

Keep track of how you are now and your symptoms. Do you have anything other than the pea sized nodule as you have described? Even this is not necessarily Peyronies. Did your doctor actually diagnose Peyronies, or just "wait and see"?

Other symptoms would be pain, curvature, change in erection quality, etc. Keep track of your current symptoms and concerns, and then monitor yourself for any changes. The pea sized nodule could be an inflammation in the skin of some sort and could go away.

I noticed hour glassing within the first few weeks and some shrinkage in the following months. However, after I got on pentox I was able to get back most of the size I lost. 6 years later, my hourglassing is minimal and sex is not a problem at all. I got this at 29 and am now 35.

It's difficult to say if you will have more symptoms. This disease is different for everybody. The best thing you can do is to exercise, eat well, and get on pentox. Beating this disease is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time but you can succeed.

Thanks lwillisjr and skjald for responding!

But lwillisjr, i had to laugh at that reply. I guess i was judging the importance of sex up to the age 50 based on my parents sex life lol

All i have is that plaque thats smaller than a pea. what would you guys say a commonly sized plaque is? did i get lucky and get an unusually small one that most likely won't cause much harm? I only had pain the first week but i sort of thought that was just from getting a little a over zealous with the "jelqing" exercises i was doing. Boy do i wish i knew my penis was average/little above average before i started doing those damn things! There is a slight curve to the left when erect but I've had a little bit of a curve my whole life that is just natural to a certain extent. When flaccid, you can see the skin bunch up a little bit by the plaque and it curves to that side. But my Uro did say it was peyronies which i self diagnosed before going into him. The plaque does not move it stays in one spot underneath the skin and if you stretch the skin you can see it is sort of "opaque" looking. Then again doctors have been wrong about other things i have gone in for before so who knows! this inflammation you speak of, are there instances where it lasts this long?

Skjald, did your "disease" come about from an injury or just spontaneous? I haven't lost any size or anything but i am hoping i don't just have stability, get married, then boom one year after marriage have my penis fall off. That would be a terrible marriage i would assume if something like that happened very suddenly. At my age/stage do you really think its even worth it to get on pentox? I brought that up to my uro last time and he wouldn't do it so i would assume i would have to do some traveling and empty the wallet to get a Rx for that stuff. I would say i am a way above average individual when it comes to taking care of myself. I eat a very healthy diet, don't drink excessively, don't smoke, workout 3-6 times a week and take like 12 different vitamin/supplements.

Thanks again guys this is already bringing some peace to my mind. (wait not really my penis might fall off tomorrow) laughter can be good medicine sometimes

Mine was from a fairly minor injury, so I would guess that I am genetically predisposed to Peyronie's and my body responded to that injury by depositing scar tissue instead of healthy tissue.

Yes, it is worth getting on pentox. The earlier you get started on medication the better. Pentox takes several weeks to begin to be effective and you must continue taking it over a period of months (I took it for 8 months). It is a very cheap medication, you just have to find a urologist willing to prescribe it off label.

Good luck

Thanks for the other reply skjald,

I guess i do not understand how or why this plaque causes bottle necking, hourglassing, or "wasted" penis. If the plaque is only in one very specific spot. Why does the plaque on one side of the penis cause a reaction to the other side of the penis? It makes no sense in my mind. If you only workout your bicep your tricep isnt affected at all. Why does damage on one side cause damage on the other? Did you have a larger plaque than i had and maybe a different shape or in a different location? Also, it would appear that a lot of people say they have more than one plaque making me wonder if one plaque causes the other or if they are just genetically predisposed to it like you said along with having terrible luck.

Thanks again

Skjaldborg

A dorsally located plaque (the top part of the shaft that you see when you look straight down at yourself) can cause small indentations to appear on both sides of the penis, even though it is just one plaque. This happens because that one plaque is not expanding during erection, so when viewing from above it will create an hourglass shape.

It is very common for more than one plaque to form. If you have one plaque, you are already genetically predisposed to getting more, that is an unfortunate fact of this disease. People who are not predisposed to Peyronie's may suffer micro tears or pressure to the tunica, feel sore for a day or two, but never have any scar tissue form. People like us, for some unknown reason, respond to these micro tears and pressure by depositing scar tissue. The only way we know how to treat this is by reducing inflammation, and that means taking pentox, cialis, or using VED to bring oxygenated blood into the penis to promote healing.

very interesting so it sounds like maybe ill be lucky and not notice any hour glassing or bottlenecking as much.

Does it sound like my plaque might be a little bit more on the smaller side?

Sounds like a lot of the guys with major issues on this board have huge like half dollar sized plaques

I just want to say that without treatment you will get also to $1/2 sized plaques.

That's not necessarily true. There are men here who have severe curvature who can't feel the plaque at all. It all depends on where the plaque is positioned. Read this recent post here where a new member had significant curvature but could not find a lump: Diagnosed around 18 mos ago.... - Peyronies Society Forums

I have no idea if your plaque is on the small side. Only a urologist can determine that, preferably via ultrasound.

Hey James,

You're saying that my plaque will continue to grow in size over the next however many years till it gets to 1/2 dollar size? Its so funny at this point in time it seems like it is hardly effecting me besides for a little bit of a curve some of which i already had. I guess its impossible to know if it will ever get any worse or not. Incredibly scary.

Thanks for the additional feedback skjald I'm going to read that in a few. Damn this peyronies BS! I get all the weird ass problems like infected belly button, ingrown hair, now peyronies. life sucks

jmd2011

Also James,

Since it has already been about a year and a half-two years, do you think i will all of a sudden start seeing more severe symptoms causing me to regret not attacking this more intensely? I am already taking the suggested vitamin E plus the coq10, l-arginine, acetyl-l-carnitine. Is this pentox really that much better/necessary?

jmd2011

Also,

Isn't pentox used to keep inflammation down? I just don't get it I don't have any "inflammation" the plaque is already "solid" and there is no pain, swelling, redness, any of that. Sometimes i feel the plaque when flaccid and other times i dont feel it at all. I ALMOST always feel the plaque when erect but there are times that i don't feel it/see it.

Do you think i am lucky that i got the plaque in the location i did (right underneath the head on the left side) vs right in the middle of the penis? My mind is racing right now.

I am way too young to be having penis problems already. If i went to the uro and asked for pentox should i try to get that complimented with cialis? At my age and physical activity level i feel like i would have a hard on 24/7 if i was taking cialis

jmd2011

its also weird that i have never really had any pain except after a lottttt of masturbation/sex

NeoV

It's certainly not weird that you only had pain after a lot of sex. That's normal. Most guys do not have pain with Peyronie's from my own experience with forum members unless aggravated by an initial injury that was particularly bad in nature.

Pentox is not an anti-inflammatory per se. It blocks tgf-beta1, which is a cytokine responsible for fibrosis. Nobody can tell you how bad your case is really.

Did you get an ultrasound? How did you doctor/uro know it was Peyronie's? Could it simply be lymphatic or vascular irritation? See a specialist at all costs. I would rest my penis personally and see if it resolves if it is actually not a plaque.

james1947

jmd2011

Regarding Pentox, yes is necessary.
It was a slow process to to 1/2 dollar size in my case, with disastrous consequences.
By the way, no one on this forum advised for vitamin E.

jmd2011

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say that I just got on pentox (400mg) (3x/day).

Was wondering if anyone could tell me anything as far as how soon you "felt" or saw anything if anything at all from the pentox. keep in mind I'm not using any pumps or stretching devices and I'm still not sure if i want to start using those.

Also, any of you guys big into exercising or weight lifting? Supposed to help with blood flow, so maybe it could be pretty beneficial?

Thanks,

jmd2011

Also, just wanted to say that my Uro was veryyy hesitant to give me this stuff. Had to fight for it lol

lets hope it works as well as everyone says

There are, unfortunately, some side effects with Pentox. These include, increased anxiety, gastric problems, others feel cold, etc. For some, these go or subside with time, for others, no.

Yes, IMO, get yourself I to the gym. It will make you feel better in yourself and about yourself. Increasing your general health and fitness can only be good in the battle against this.

jmd2011

Jonbinspain,

thanks for the feedback. But i guess what i am really wondering about is if the pentox has any positive benefits in making your workout any better than it is. I am a big weight lifter and always take a "pre-workout" supplement which has nitric oxide in it which is a vasodilator. I am wondering if since pentox helps with blood flow if it would make your workouts any better and if you would get a better "pump".

With weightlifting, the day after you do a body part that body part has a "pumped" look to it. I also wonder if pentox would help your body keep that pumped up look for longer since many people have claimed that their flaccid penises hang more full when on pentox.

Just curious thats all. Wonder if any other guys have thoughts on it. I should probably just make a new thread for it

Jonbinspain

I suppose that theoretically, it would. I also use Citrulline Malate combined with ALC, usually taken in the morning before I go to the gym.

I'm 65 and more into weight training than trying to bulk up, so it's difficult for me to comment as I tend to use lighter weights x more reps to build definition. Plus cardio work.

Certainly the combination of the supplements and Pentox will dilate the blood vessels and thin the blood.
