Dr. Lue mentions in one of his articles that Peyronies Disease could be confused with sclerosing lymphangitis (SL) or tumor rarely. (In the same article he says he doesn't prescribe pentox for mild cases, i.e. Curve <30). Given that Peyronies Disease is something 'rare' by tself and we are (or could be) one of those rare occurence, I am wondering whether another rare thing may occur and someone's Peyronies Disease could be confused with SL. Anyway, that made me to look for a comparison of SL vs Peyronies Disease. A search in the forum did not bring much result. Anybody familiar with SL and how it is similar or different than Peyronies Disease. E.g. Does SL cause pain at all? What about plaque like lump?

Thats interesting,

I did not know that there where other conditions that could be mistaken for peyronies. I'm curious to know whether they are the same or actually different. So far what I read is that it too is caused by trauma.

Vascular thrombosis and SL can mimic Peyronie's and are ofte confused with one another. I am still unsure which I have at times and I think the only way to know is to mention it to a specialist and get an image done! For the record, lymph problems usually swell up during erection and remain pronounced after sexual activity. Also, putting a lamp or flashlight up to it closely will reveal it to be blueish in color, which is very odd I know. SL tends to be under the glans, and when very bad will cause the skin above to swell and blister.

Interestingly, pentox was shown to clear mondor's in one study, though this does not mean it's the same as Peyronie's.

Certain research papers (at least one) have stated that Peyronie's may come from vascular trauma as well, but there hasn't been much elaboration on this.
