Peyronies Disease at the age of 53 .

Hi . All partners ...
This is my first post after 2 months of reviewing and making up my mind ..  
I am 53 wd just diagnosed wd Peyronies Disease ( about 3 months ago ) .. As usual my urologist took it normal wd Vitamin E suggestion .. Askung to come back after 3 months .. Was not satisfied , the next doctor told same but asked to come after 6 months ( told it  will b normal in between 12 months ) .. I am just taking Vitamin E . wd 5 mg  cialis  twice a week for 8 weeks .
This is third month .. My size which was originally 4 " ( when erected )has reduced to 2.5 " .  a 45 d upward curve and pain has made my sex life to zero .
As I lived   in middle east ( doctors not available)  I have to rely  ( completly) on the help from all of my friends from this form .
I am trying to find the traction device as well as planning to  take initial  medicine dose suggested by James  .. ( pentox/ ubiquional/ L - arginine ) . all qd out consulting a doctor ..
Pls inf if this is right thing I am doing .
2- recently i had to shift  and  am away from my wife on job in Middle East . we r doing lot of oral sex on Skype where I am continuously wet and my testicles start paining after certain time .. Hope this won't create any further Damage to my Peyronies Disease . pls guide ?
I am confused , frustrated, and totally depressed .. As I know I have no possible treatment available in this part of the world .. I may able to get the medicines but not a professional opinion from any doctor .
Pls guide if above is ok to proceed .

It is unfortunate that medical advice and assistance where you live is not good.

Firstly, Ubiquinol and L-Arginine are pretty safe, taken in sensible doses. As regards Pentox, there are certain side effects. You can read about the most common ones on this site. Many of us, me included, found that these side effects become less as your body gets used to the drug. If your general health is good, you should be ok to take Pentox.

Blood in the penis is always good. So, what you're doing with your wife should be fine. If you masturbate, however, be careful!  Do not be rough on your penis, it can make things worse.

I know nothing of what import restrictions you may have in your country. You can find information about where you can buy traction devices, and the oral medications you need on this site. Or on the internet. Getting them into your country, I cannot advise you on. You must find out what restrictions, if any, there are for yourself.

Yes, we are all in the same unfortunate club here.

Vitamin E won't do you any harm, but they won't do much for Peyronie's either. This is treatment from the "dark ages" from Urologists who either know nothing about this disease, or don't care.

It is important that you act quickly to fight this. Do not listen to anybody, doctor or otherwise, who tells you to wait. It's the worst thing you can do.

I have finally managed to arrange all medicens ..
1- pantox . 400 mg
2- coenzyme Q-10  ( 30 mg).
3- L - Arginine ( 500 mg ) .
I have some questions ... Pls help .
I am on boarder line of diabetes and use 250 gm x2 tablets of gulocifitch wd meals .can I use pantox ( as it says on bottle ,patients wd diabetes don't  use pantox .. Pls guide .
3 - pls help me prepare the daily dosage plan .. So to start the medication.
4- do I need to take 5 mg of cialis even though I won't be able to have sex wd my wife ( due to the fact that I am away from my wife for at least six months ) . I have not masterbated for the last 28 years after my marriage as we had wonderful sex life .. So should i use Cialis ( pls guide ) .
Lastly  ... I cannot   manage to get any VED or traction device .. So is it ok if I use just oral medication for the time being ..

Let me tell you my opinion also, even I suppose Jonbinspain will answer your questions also.
You must discuss taking all those medications and supplements with your doctor.
Pentox 3*400 mg daily. Should be of the slow release kind. To minimise side effects, start with one, increase to 2 after a week and to 3 after an other week.
CoQ10 will not help too much as you are over 40. You should take Ubiquinol, 3*100 mg per day may be a good doses.
L - Arginine, between 500 and 1500 mg daily.
Low dose Cialis is not for intercourse. It will help reduce and soften the plaques together with the Pentox, will also induce night and morning erections that are good for the penis health.
Be aware that both Cialis and L-Arginine are reducing blood pressure. You may want to monitor your blood pressure more frequently if you are taking both.
Regarding VED, try to find in a sex toy shop. Just buy one that in manual and have fast release button. Carefully not to over-pump. Just pump to the level that you feel comfortable and no any pain.

Grateful for your piece of advice .
H/e as I live in saudia Arabia ..  No doctors to discuss this kind of disease or a swx toy shop available ..I showed the picture of Ved to  the guy in pharmacy, and he was kind of  shocked to see . saying these instruments are illegal to use here .
So I have to stick to oral treatment till I get some clue as  to
Where to buy it .
I have to also depend on all my friends in this form .. Believe me we can get much better professional advise than most of the so Called urologists  in this part of the world .
Ubiquinol is also not available so I will use CO Q10 for the time being ..
Until I find it.
I don't smoke . no drinking . no sugar intake except bead and weat which we use for meals .. So I will take pantox as per your advice .
I will wait if Jon has something to add .

I don't know what are the import rules in Saudi Arabia, but Pentox and Cialis can get here:

It is a reliable source, many forum members using them.
Regarding Ubiquinol, I don't want to promote any product or commercial site, make a google search, you will find many.
Regarding urologists to discuss your problems, including VED, must be in Saudi Arabia. For sure many people, especially older man have urological problems. Try to find one.

Hello Aazmaish. If you are within traveling distance to Dubai there is a private urology hospital which do treat Peyronies Disease and erectile dysfunction. They go by the name of Al Zahra Hospital. You might have some luck getting VED by prescription. The trouble with VEDs in the UAE is that sometimes they are classified as illegal sex toys, but as a patient of a reputable medical facility you might be able to get around those laws. VEDs are a legitimate treatment for erectile dysfunction.

I am a 16 hrs drive from Dubai .. h/e it is worth putting all the efforts if i can not manage to get VED or Traction device from SA .
is there any way we can have the reliability of this Al Zahra hospital ( though i will search my own way to get the reliability of this hospital ) or if any brother from our forum can guide me further in this regard

i am still trying to get VED from SA ( Saudia Arabia ) ..
seek one more advice .
If i do have to choice from any one .. which one is more required at the moment .

Hi . Jon .. here i am once again wd a question ... :)my plaque started wd one small tiny ball .. but now it has spread in length wd various small balls in the vein for an inch .（in three months ） while i am on vitamin E only .
i have gathered all the medicines suggest by you and  and james and will start my dosage plan  within one or two days days .
the only poroblem is i cannot get ubiquinol ( as i am a53 years old )and have to use CO -Q-10.  lets hope it works ..
any suggestion from my btothers .
i am also planning to shift to dubai(wiyhin 10-15 days） to tackle this disease wd some help from doctors who are available  in dubai..

Hi, aazmaish--

The original study used CoQ10 rather than ubiquinol, and the mean age of the study group was 53 (52.7 to be precise)), so you should be OK. They were working with 300 mg/day of CoQ10. (The Library has the abstract of the study.)

(I attach the full study, which has a lot of detailed numbers. If appropriate, perhaps the mods would like to add it to the current CoQ10 abstract post in the Library?)

Most people don't feel any side effects from CoQ10, and dosages above 300 mg/day are common. Some studies have pushed dosages to 1200 mg per day fro prolonged periods without problems. I use 400 mg/day of Ubiquinol, which is roughly equivalent to 640 mg (or more* of COQ10. My point is that most people don't need to be terribly cautious with CoQ10 dosage.

(Ubiquinol it raises blood levels of the substance at least 60% more than CoQ10, and there is some evidence that the absorption of CoQ10 tapers off as dosages increase.)

Re Ubiquinol. As Ursus has alluded to, it is the preferable option for any age group, due to it's far greater bio-availability. It's freely available to buy on-line. It depends how easy, or otherwise, it is to get it into your country.

Having said this, if CoQ10 is all you can get, it's better than nothing at all.

Personally, I take 200mg of Ubiqinol in the morning, and 400mg CoQ10 at night time.
