WAZ

Good evening. I have been reading a number of posts to see if I can relate to anyone's experience but as I could not see a similar combination of developments it let me to register and explain my particular situation in the hope that I may receive some advice and guidance.

So here are the facts:

Age 48
Married for 20 years
Two teenage kids
Good working life and generally comfortable..no unusual levels of stress either personally or in work.

Smoke thee to six very light cigarettes a day
Drinks two yo three glasses if wine with dinner daily more at weekends

Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2009

Diagnosed with peyronies in 2012

Before 2009 sex life was normal and healthy. After being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes I found that orgasm was being reached soon after intercourse started, seemed like I lost control...after that I found that I was not waking up with an erection and more, then ED seemed to set in and finally u started noticing a curve when taking Viagra or sometimes when stimulated naturally. The curve was quite subtle and I had no pain, however ED was the main problem. I took a testosterone test and it was low, I take injections now every three months  and have been doing so for about 16 months now, labido is improved greatly but Ed is still an issue.

I am going to see the local urologist who I first met about 16 months ago some six months after I noticed the curve, he told me to come back a year later if the curve got worse, as it seems to have improved or at least not got worse I didn't go but I thought that my erections would come back to normal with the testosterone jabs and Viagra, now that this seems to be less effective I'm going to go back to see if there is anything I can do further..

Hope to hear from anyone with similar experiences and condition..

Kind regards
WAZ

You have written:

Because you didn't read enough :) I am also not expecting from you to read all, I just want to say that many people had/have the same development like you.
I would like to say that you must see an other urologist/Peyronies expert as soon as you can.
You doctor advice:
Quotehe told me to come back a year later if the curve got worse
Is a very BAD advice, you should be on treatment from the first visit to him.
Regarding your ED, I was proposing you to start taking 5mg Cialis daily before bad. It will help with nocturnal and morning erections and may help with the ED also.

Hello James,
Thanks for your reply, I will go into more of the posts as I get used to the forum, I promise  :)

As for the cialis yes I was using this for a few months and true it helped with morning erections but not so much at night, maybe because of eating  and drinking in the evening, could this effect? It seems the reaction was there in the mornings only and I took it at 7pm daily.

I will be aiming to see the urologist as the earliest opportunity, I'm concerned that his advice seems it have been bad, I will see what he says this time before looking at an alternative...I am often in the London area in the uk, would anyone have suggestions for a urologist there.

Kind regards
Warren

WAZ,
A year waiting to go back to the doctor is a year of your life wasted. You could be doing things now that can stop or reverse the progression of this ailment. The consensus of this board is that, at the very least, you should be on a PAV cocktail and either VED or traction. Cialis can replace Viagra in the cocktail. Both VED and traction have good experience here, but they both have pros and cons. You will have to read to see which would be best for you. Most importantly, take action now. The reason they put you off for a year is because no surgeon will touch you until you are in the stable phase, usually after one year and changes have stopped. Using treatment now may make surgery unnecessary.

Hi Norm thanks for your reply, my wife was checking the blogs for me and mentioned the PAV cocktail so will research this option and will follow up on your advice.
Thanks ever so much for your interest...can't wait to get back to a normal lifestyle soon. Regards WAZ

Norm

Unfortunately, it's usually not soon. You are embarking on a marathon, not a sprint. The only quick fix is surgery. The cocktail is Pentox-Arginine-Viagra(or Cialis), thus PAV. I am biased toward the VED over traction because it does not require as much time each day. That choice will be yours to make. Good luck to you and your lady. It will take both of you to beat this, but it can be done. Spend as much time as you can on this forum. There is a wealth of experience and knowledge here. And no one here is selling anything. We are just a band of brothers with a common goal. Ask questions. The guys here will help all they can.

Thanks again...I will look at both options to see what may work best for me and in the meantime I have an appointment with my doctor on Thursday and one with the Urologist on the 11th February so will be prepared for both..regards Warren

20 mg Cialis made me flushing, sweat, back pain and headache, but no erection.
5 mg Cialis daily (cut the 20 mg in four) are much better for me for morning erections and erections in general.
Viagra 25 mg, 50 mg or 100 mg helping me with intercourse, but still far from the strong erections I had in the past.
Give it a try.
