Hi

My urologist is willing to try xiaflex injenctions for my fibrosis.

I have some questions about xiaflex trials:

How many injections should I get? distance from them?

What's the amount of the substance to be used?

Any particular way of injecting?

thank you

yyy, not to sound flip, but if your urologist isn't up to speed on this and capable of answering those questions definitively, he/she doesn't need to be injecting your penis with anything. Sounds like you need to seek out a Peyronie's specialist who is up-to-speed on Xiaflex, not some local uro who is simply willing to "give it a shot" so to speak.  You've only got one penis, don't trust it to someone who's not top-of-their-game if you can avoid it.

I will second Nemo on his opinion. The good results are concentrating in the hands of some of the doctors, not all.
Regarding your questions, have a lot of information on:

Thank you guys

It was just a curiosity of mine, I didn't speak a lot with my urologistabout Xiaflex,  but I really think he knows how to do it. Will ask him for sure, in the meantime I wanted to know the protocol used in the trials.

YYY,
In terms of the doctor's skill, think of the doctor as an sculptor and the Xiaflex as the knife working on your penis as the medium.  A skilled doctor using Xiaflex has both a gift and the skill that comes from experience.  Find a doctor that has lots of experience, preferably a high volume MD that participated in the trials.  The drug is only a part of the equation.  There are so many other factors involved.  Now that the trials are over, the protocols are somewhat varied from doctor to doctor.  Many doctors do not do the in office modeling, but will ask you to do it, some use traction, some allow VED, some space out the two injections per round, some want bandaging for three days, some only for three hours and so on and so forth.  The more research you do, the more you will see that the treatment specifics vary.  Best of luck.
