Hi, my name is Alan. Now aged 67. I was diagnosed with Peyronies about 1 year ago. It was sudden onset of about 10 degrees and then gradual progression. By August it was 45 degrees. My surgeon wouldn't operate till the pain had stopped. That eased about two months ago. I am booked in for op on Monday (Nesbit's). As I'm not that big to start with I am dreading it.
At least I don't have to worry about paying for it as the NHS is paying.
I've tried massage and various supplements. Nothing altered it.
Oh well, as a vet I had some idea of the anatomy. I also know that I won't be put down for non function. My wife is being very supportive so I am grateful for that.
I do find the whole thing depressing but at least I'm still alive. And the rest of me still functions!

Alan;
If surgery is your chosen route, that's your choice. The view of this forum, and there is more collective experience of this disease here than I have ever found anywhere, is that surgery is the very last resort.

If intercourse is physically impossible, and all other remedies have been exhausted with no success, then many will choose the surgical route.

One other thing. I don't wish to alarm you - you say this is being done on the NHS free?  O.k. But have you looked into the surgeon who will perform the op? What is his reputation? How many successful Op's has he done? Etc. you only have one penis my friend, be very sure about who you allow near it with a scalpel!..

I will second Jonbinspain on every word. Surgery should be the last resort, even it is coming free.
