Recently i used an extender to add a few inches to penis.  Never felt any pain but one day i woke up with a numb penis. Numbness is a little better.  A few days after that i noticed a indent on right side of penis.  Ive also been dealing with moderate hard flaccid.  I dont feel any scar tissue.  Just a groove like indent on left side of penis.  Im slso find it hard to maintain an erection without stimulation.  Going see uro in two weeks but scared that its peyronies.  No real bend to my penis.  Anyone can help me out?  Is it alright if i post a pic if not i wont just want to ask if inappropriate.

I don't know how to say this without sounding blunt or scolding.

Any sex toy and/or device like an extender can be dangerous is not used correctly. You can not gain any penile size beyond what you were born with.! A normal penis works better than any thing else you can do.

Lets hope and pray the damage is only temporary. Dr. Morgantaler, of Mens Health Boston, says  if we put a traction device on a terrorist we would be charged with torture.  He has seen several cases of men that injured themself, like you did. You need to find a good Male Sexual Function Specialist for help.

In addition to Jack advice to see a doctor as soon as you can, I am proposing you to read the link bellow to get better understanding in Peyronies.
MUST READ BEFORE YOU POST - Information for new members - Peyronies Society Forums
I moved your post to Introduce Yourself, you will get more attention there.

Welcome to the forum

Age 71, Peyronies from Jan 2009 following penis fracture during sex. Severe ED.
Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

Going to the urologist tommorrow.  Pretty sure i have peyronies though.  I have an indent on right base and lose erection without stimulation.  Im worried about lost length.  I have suffered from extreme depression and i dont know if i can take this.

NeoV

Hey Jimbo,

A dent should be able to be restored I would imagine. Read up on VED and read about the number of treatments.
The erection problem is a bit more ambiguous, since depression and all this stuff can make that worse. Give yourself a break, I have that same problem but never considered it to be ED. I could be wrong though.

Check out the treatments here, encourage erections that are as firm as possible if you ever do masturbate or have sex. The only way for me to do this was to take a long time during each act, as well as by taking a good 2 weeks off masturbation to restore my testosterone levels etc. Daily cialis could help you. Most importantly see a specialist if you are able to. Most uros don't know much about peyronies.

We are all here to help you, we're all here trying to get better, mostly with success, so hold on and I'm sure you will see yourself improve over time.

Thanks neov.  I really appreciate that.  I thought i was doing something to change my life for the better and i might have ruined it.  I dont have many friends in real life because of my depression so maybe i can make some here.  Thanks again.

Jimbo

Well went to uro today.  Showed him my picture of my erect dent and he felt for plaque and he found nothing.  He said it was very unlikely that i have peyronies.  Dont know what to think.  He advised me not to use an extender no more and i have no problem with that.  I would trash the thing but it cost me 300 bucks.

NeoV

Jimbo,

Plaques cannot always be felt, and in your case and at your age, they certainly are likely to not be palpable!

You may still have peyronies or some kind of damage to your penis if you have a "dent". Mine started with two dents, and later turned into slight hourglassing. This doesn't mean your case will get worse however. Peyronies is not well defined. You can have peyronies symptoms, chronic peyronies inflammation, curves, dents, etc. What many of us are learning is that peyronies is unlike any other overuse injury, like tendonitis for example. In either case, whether you have this "disease" or not, it is time to start taking care of your penis. Exercise, good diet, and possible VED to stretch out that dent!

About the real or perceived ED you are experiencing. While it may be a real physiological issue, I highly recommend you take a good few weeks off masturbation and sex. Also stop watching porn to reset your dopamine response to daily life. This can make the difference and eliminate the problem you are expiriencing. It will also relieve your depression a good bit. Do not underestimate this. The research and information on it is plain to see. Also, taking 7 days off masturbation raises your testosterone a lot, so it can really help your erections in a multitude of ways. I don't think masturbation daily is bad, and it might stress you out too much to try to stop for a while, but what I'm saying is that you can take a break and feel good. Relax a bit : ) Also, hard flaccid went away for me after I took a break from masturbation. The VED also has seemed to remove it completely.

You can certainly make friends here! There are plenty of us in our early 20s and believe it or not even younger. You can find just about all age groups here. Feel free to PM any of us.

If you experiencing numbness as in loss of pleasure sensation (I have been dealing with that for 2 and a half years!) you should get your bioavailable testosterone checked along with your DHT, Estradiol, Prolactin, TSH (for thyroid problems) FSH and DHEA levels.  You might also want to consider being screened for Diabetes (can cause sensory problems) and have an MRI done of your back to check for herniated disks that could be causing you problems.  You also mentioned that you are depressed...may I ask are you on SSRIs? SSRIs are known to cause serious sexual problems in some people as is of course depression itself.  My family doctor had an ultrasound done of my prostate and bladder as well.  Dr. Irwin Goldstein has apparently done a lot of work with "sexual anhedonia" and has treated some people with dopamine agonists which I gather would be effective if your anhedonia is caused by dopamine problems.  In my case my family doctor gave me pramipexole for a few months....fun medicine to be on but it was of no help down there.  Hopefully your numbness will go away soon and wont become something long term like mine or Agent0's (he has been dealing with it for over 5 years!!!)

Jimbo

Neo, i have bathmate. Can i use that as a ved?

Jimbo

Forester, i am experiencing numbness in top of shaft.  I think it may have been caused from jelqing.  Bottom of shsft has all my sensation and so does top glans/ foreskin.  I just got a blood test on friday so im waiting on that.  Not on any antidepressant right now although i probably should be.  Maintaining erections was impossible with them.  My dht is fine i think.  Had bad acne as a teen, losing a little hair now and body gets thicker everyday.  Strang thing i noticed though when i was not able to get erections for two weeks my hair on my head was getting thicker.  Might have been lack of testosterone.

NeoV

Until I see a peyronies sufferer do a comparison between bathmate and VED, I cannot tell you if it is effection.

I'm not sure that you should be on an antidepressant. Focus now on improving your overall health in all zones. Like I said, too much porn can impair dopamine levels, and lack of vitamin D alone can cause diabetes and a handful of auto immune disorders.

Rather then bathmate, I would get a single cylinder VED and start from there.

Jimbo

Alright neo ill look into a cylinder ved.  Would bathmate hurt in the time being?  I dont plan on going on any antidepressant ever again.  I hear you on the no porn thing.  Im pretty reliant on it sometimes.  Gonna get back in the gym to.  I use to do heavy weights and would like to do more cardio based.  Not even gonna touch my penis for two weeks.  Thanks neo.

Jimbo

Another thing i noticed,  sometimes my flaccid penis is an hourglass shape.  Now its always done this to an extent just more so now than usually.  It used to do it more when i had to crap.  Noticed it wheb i woke up and when i took a piss it was an hourglass shape.

Depression in most men is usually a sign of low testosterone(T).  Does your blood work include checking your T?  Be sure to get a copy for your records. Do Not accept that you are in the normal range. Lots of doctors just check total T. To get a real idea of your T level the blood work should include Total T, Free T, and Bioavailable T.  The Total T should be in the high end of the lab range and the Free T should be at least 60% of the lab range for best results.

There are many benefits to a great T level. It may temporally help ED but it will not last.

I think I'm off subject. I only post this because you mentioned antidepressants.

Interesting about the testosterone and depression link.. Makes me wonder. Also makes me say no duh! Since Vitamin D tends to perk me up immediately. Jimbo, I'm not actually off porn right now lol. But this year I took plenty of breaks and it really helped me out. Will be taking another one soon. Since I'm experimenting with the VED I've been using porn to induce erections afterwards pretty freely.

But absolutely, keep your mind off it for a bit. Focus on your penis health, mental health, and testosterone :)

Try vitamin D and exercise for sure. Hit those weights. I did squats for the first time in years the other day, hitting the gym tomorrow for chest.

About hour glassing,

Ever since I was a kid I had slight hinging and hourglassing, but it never really mattered. Over time, that hinging turned into a more pronounced hourglass effect, until I got what you describe. I found that I could diminish it by, as I may have mentioned, inducing the hardest erections and taking care during sex and masturbation.

The biggest thing to help me with this though has been the VED. I use it in the morning, and the hour glass is gone for the day.
Have you used bathmate before? If you do not own either, I will firmly recommend the Vitality OTC until someone can accurately judge the bathmate. pmj13 recently got peyronies from a bathmate injury. However! Even a regular VED can cause peyronies, as well as all extenders. So I don't know what to say about this.

Jimbo

Been having the bathmate for 6 months and i honestly think as long as you do as recommended bathmate is safe.  I dont think that caused my injury.  I will try the vitamin d neo.  If you dont mind me asking what supplements you take for the gym.  Ive done cycles of creatine in the past with whey protein.  Now i just do whey protein and high protein diet.

Jimbo

Hi, little update and a question.  Just using bathmate very lightly for past week.  Still seems indented.  Im thinking i need an opinion of anothrr urologist.  Notice no bend or pain what so ever.  Tried to kick the porn but the more depressed i get about if i have peyronies the more ill watch porn and jerk off.  Went to the gym past three days but it doesnt matter looking buff with a messed up dick.  One thing i noticed is that i have these weird indents under the head of my penis.  Around this area is where the girth of my penis gets thinner and makes my penis head looks kind of like and mushroom.  Now for all i know it has always been like that but this recent peyronies scare is making me analyze my penis all over.  I have the picture i showed the urologist in the pictures section.  Just incrediblely depressed and thats only making it worse.

jimbo28

Can I ask, why are you trying to get a urologist to diagnose you from a picture? I don't think any reliable urologist would diagnose you from a picture anyway.  The best way to get a diagnosis is to drop your pants and let him examine you. You don't have anything they have not seen before.

Porn is acting and nothing like real life.  Stop the porn, bath mate and leave your dick alone. Then start dating.  When you do have sex with a girl I'll bet she will never even notice.

He felt around my flaccid and didnt feel any plaque also.

Jimbo

Is bathmate really hurting though.  I dont use it for long and on low pressure.  Within the first day my hard flaccid was greatly reduced and my flaccid never turtles.  That's gotta be helping with bloodflow right?

jackp

jimbo

The 15 minute daily VED exercise would be a lot more benefit.  The exercise will bring a lot more fresh blood flow to your penis than the bathmate will.  Before my implant it helped me gain back 3/4" of lost length and I regained my youthful girth.

Dr. Milam told me that the exercise was one of the reasons I had such a great outcome with my implant.

If you are trying to gain length and girth beyond what you were born with neither bathmate, traction or the VED will do that. Your natural penis is the best, messing with it to gain size beyond what you were born with will only cause problems and some are not reversible. See Dr. Morgantaler's blog at Men's Health Boston.

No jackp.  Im just doing it for bloodflow and help erections.  It does give temporary girth expansions which is good befire sex.  Its all i have right now til i could afford a quality ved.  Im tempted to throw out the extender but thats 300 hundred dollars.  Wonder if i can send it back.  Ive only had it for a couple of months.  I dont plan on using it again.

NeoV

Hey Jimbo,

It sounds like the bathmate is working, but I don't know in detail really how it compares to VED.
If it does compare, then it is indeed a good thing and I would recommend continuing. I also notice that after using VED my natural erections are much better.

Jimbo

Noticed something else, the base of my penis is alot weaker than i remember.  Even without the dent its just alot weaker than my upper shaft.  Is this a definite sign of peyronies?
