I'm going to start using a traction device. This one seems to be made especially for Peyronie's sufferers. Is anybody using, or has used, one of these?

I try to figure out the differences between Andropeyronies traction device and other devices used by forum members.
Maybe the colour?
The price of 199 Euro is not bad.

Age 71, Peyronies from Jan 2009 following penis fracture during sex. Severe ED.
Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

The difference is supposed to be that this device applies more traction to the side that needs straightening. I just wondered if anybody had any experience of the Andropeyronie device, & what their views were.

I just started using the Andropenis 10 days ago. My urologist recommended this specific traction device for 2-3 hours per day for the next six months. It is too early in my treatment plan to give you feedback concerning results. It is relatively easy to use although there is no way I could wear it at work and be able to sit in an office wearing dress or casual pants.

The Andropenis comes with their own treatment plan for Peyronies Disease contained in their instructions. That includes by how much and when to increase the traction length as well as how many hours per day to wear it. Their instructions recommend starting at 3 hours per day, increasing to 6, 8, and eventually 9 hours per day, using it for no more than 2 hours at a time and then taking a break before wearing it again. This is considerably more than what my urologist recommended and more time than I am able to wear it. Perhaps my urologist recognizes that it would be very difficult to wear it for so many hours each day and wants to prescribe an achievable number of hours.

I plan on using it for 4 hours per day, 2 - 2 hour sessions. Even with sweat pants or gym shorts, it is difficult sitting down and getting up from a seated position. I just have to be careful doing so.

I am determined to beat this.  I am also on Pentox, L-Arginie, Acetyl L-Carnatine and daily Cialis. I am also using a VED, Augusta 3-cylinder per the protocol recommended on this site

Thanks for the feedback IHPD. I think I'll go ahead and get one. It sounds like the best option.

It is sad to see that urologists still recommend this product. The reason behind this, is that it was used in a wildly publicized trial by Gontero, and if I remember well by Levine also.

But given the huge market potential, many brands have appeared. As of today, traction devices are either using a strap, like the andropenis, or a vacuum holder like the phallosan and the penimaster pro. Which are not to be mistaken with vacuum pumps, a totally different product.

Devices with straps or loops cannot be used for 8 hours without noticeable pain, unless you have no penile nerves. Vacuum devices can. They can also be worn with a belt which is easy to conceal under trousers and address the problem you describe when sitting down and getting up. Vacuum devices are vastly superior.

Andromedical is a reputable company but their products have not evolved in the past 5 years. Do yourself a favor, trash this torture instrument and get yourself a vacuum-holder based device. It is a bit expensive, but if you wear the andropenis 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 6 months, that's 780 hours of pain. I would even pay $1 an hour to make it comfortable.

IhatePD

Obsie have you used either of the vacuum traction devices you mentioned? I am still not sure they wouldn't be noticeable under dress pants.

If you have used either of them, can you gives us feedback on your experiences?

Obsie

Yes, I am currently using Penimaster Pro. I can guarantee you it is not noticeable under my jeans when I am using the belt system. I can post pictures if you like. I also wear it with business suit, in fact it is easier because the jacket covers the bulge of the penis head's device, which is the "succion cup". The belt does not pull as much as the extender but it allows extending the penis for hours, so it is a secondary therapy in a way.  Being elastic, it also let you sit easily. In fact the other day I had to run while wearing it, and I managed to run without problems. Of course I would not play basketball with it, but with the andropenis even walking is sometimes cumbersome. When I am back home I replace it with the extender.

After discovering this product, I felt it was my duty to warn and educate people about this. Strap- based products belong to the past. The only thing I dont like about the penimaster pro is the adhesive gel, it is very sticky and will resist to any kind of soap except liquid dish soap. So when you remove the device to urinate, it is really better not to touch the latex parts where you put the gel, otherwise you will spread some on the metal rods, and then good luck if you want to adjust anything.

Please refer to my post there : What's the most comfortable traction device? - Peyronies Society Forums
Where I posted a picture if the two devices.

QuoteHi
I used, one year ago, an Andropenis device with a strap. It was painful and I had to take it off after 30 mn, my glan completely blue. I stopped using it. After careful research I bought, one month ago, a Penimaster Pro device, which works with suction instead of strap. The only pain I have is the one incurred by traction, and I have no slippage problems plus the blood keeps circulating everywhere, making it theoretically possible to wear it for hours ( I have not exceeded 6 hours). So I woud strongly recommend this extender, although it does not come cheap. I believe the Phallosan might be a good alternative, although they only provide a belt system.
All in one I would really recommend avoiding any kind of strap- based device.

I am absolutely not linked to any manufacturer of one of these products, nor am I an affiliate. I have no website selling these products. I am just a guy with a 37 degrees curvature who is placing high hopes in traction therapy, before spending € 7.5 K in surgery.

You don't wear it for 8 hours. With this type of tracition device you only wear it for 2 hours at a time and then take a 15-20 minute break. I've worn one of these without any problems.

Of course, but the longer you wear it the better the effect. That's what Levine says together with many urologists.
With a good device you take it off only because you want to urinate, not because you need some blood back in your glans because of poor design.
I own both systems, I can compare. Trust me on this.

At what tension do you wear the penimaster pro at?

Devices like the Andropenis have a few studies on Peyronies treatment to back them up. All day stretchers like phallosan which the penimaster looks similar to, do not (as far as I know).
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

The Andropenis and the Penimaster differ only in the way the penis is attached to the device. Other than that, the principles are exactly the same, so what applies to one applies to one applies to the other, and in fact to all penis extenders of good manufacturing quality.
I have not used the Phallosan so I cannot say anything about the product, it seemsmto be more comfortable than other systems, that's all I can say.
The Penimaster Pro is a stretching device similar to (but more comfortable than) the Andropenis, as well as an all-day device when used with the strap.
I use mine at a 920 grams tension. I will elaborate in another post about my routine if you guys are interested..

IhatePD

Obsie, please elaborate on your routine including how long you have used it and any results you might have seen.

Obsie

First started one year ago with the Andropenis. Despite numerous attempts, buying the flesh-colored silicon ring andromedical sells, and trying pretty much every advice I could find online, I could not wear that thing for more than 30 mn, maybe one hour. Maybe my anatomy is not adapted, I do not know, but my glans went numb yet painful real quick. So I stopped after, I dont remember exactly, maybe 3 weeks. No improvements.

I knew traction therapy works so a couple months ago I started to look again, found the penimaster and ordered the full system.

Knowing, after reading a few studies, that the urethra is more extensible than the rest of the penis, and that the tissues can be damaged with a tension greater than 2 kgs/cm2, I started slow. Well, not the first two days : I was so satisfied with the device's comfort that I went too far and extended too much, at over 1 kg, too quickly. I took a week off and resumed. Then I realized that I could either wear the device at maximum tension during a few hours a day, risking an injury, or for a longer time, at lower tension without risks. I chose the latter.

Routine : each morning, after a visit to the bathroom, I warm up a bit in the shower then put on the device and wear it for one hour. Then, before leaving to work I remove the rod extender and replace it with the belt. I wear it  a few hours during the day. Something like 3 to 5 hours. Then, in the evening when I am back I take it off completely for an hour or so. When jt is nearly 9 pm I put the rod extender at 900 gr. I watch TV, read, till midnight. Sometimes a little more. Before switching lights off, I take the extender off, wash the latex parts of the glans chamber and dry it for the next day.

So I average 4 hours of rod extender ( more on weekends) and some hours of belt extender, which I like less in terms of sensations ( there is a metal buckle that irritates the skin, on the side of  the body) but it helps rework the curvature I guess since the penis can be bent opposite side.

So far my results are mostly length, a quarter of an inch. No girth, but when erect the glans is better. Erection quality is better as well. As for my curvature, I must confess I am really not good with geometry, but if there is any improvement so far I do not see it, or it is really small.

I do not expect to see good results before 6 month. Every day for at least 6 hours. It is doable. There is no pain, just a tad of itching to the glans after several hours,it subsides quickly.

What I find exciting to think about is when we'll be able to couple traction with Xiaflex. Theoretically, we should be able to achieve significant curvature reduction using the two together.

For what it's worth, my doctor was part of the Xiaflex trials and feels very positive on its potential use for Peyronies Disease. I know they used modeling (manual stretching by the doctor) with the Xiaflex injections but I agree that logically, the addition of a traction device use should help with the Xiaflex treatments.

I started with Pentox. L-Arginine, daily Cialis, traction and VED earlier this month so my six months follow up will be in November 2013, hopefully shortly after Xiaflex is released for Peyronies Disease use.

Does anyone know of a longer term follow up study for people who were part of the clinical trials? I would love to know what their success was from the Xiaflex treatments and how they are making out a year later? Did their initial success continue? Did they improve or get worse? Is Xiaflex a treatment you may have to repeat over time?

I'm trying the andropeyronie. With a few modifications. (Putting an elastic band around the strap. (they kept slipping off), and putting a sponge in the gripping area. For comfort. Am able to wear it for 8 hours. But have to give my penis a break every 1 hour.

My job is physical but with those modifications. It stays on.

It's early days yet but it does give good traction. If you can get it to work right. It has given me girth and length, but the bend has not subsided yet. Have not reaching the 6 weeks stage. Where andropeyronie instructions says you will see a difference.

I really don't see much difference between this device and any other tractiion device. Although, the instructions give a program to wear the device. When to increase rod size and length of time to wear it.

I like that it seems reasuringly researched. So far am actually enjoying wearing it, but you do have to be committed to stick to there regime.
Latest routine. Started l-lysine 3mg daily, l-proline 5mg daily. Increased vit c intake. Accompanied with almost daily vacuum therapy. Pumping to 100% Exercise caution! Made good progress. L arginine supplements and prescribed potaba are helping.
