Hi I'm 30 years old and have been suffering with a condition of some kind (possibly Peyronies Disease) since around July 2011.  Initially I remember having hard shortened flaccid although I am unsure what caused this, only thing I can tie it to is a back injury I received at this time although this seems irrelevant.  I did not consult my GP for around two weeks after the initial symptoms.  My GP was at a loss and sent me to see the urologist at my local hospital. He concluded that there was nothing wrong and that "nothing could go wrong at your age".

Obviously I was aware that something was not right due to my penis feeling solid and tight so I sought a second opinion. This appointment took months to come through but eventually I saw a urologist with more experience.  He said he had never seen a case like mine and awarded me the dubious "honour" of being interesting.  He referred me to a highly respected urologist, apparently one of two urologists in the south of England who were experts in this field.  Again months went by while I waited to be given an appointment. Eventually I saw this urologist and he said my case was highly unusual and sent me for a doppler ultrasound.  The guy operating the ultrasound said he found no issues with my blood flow and could see no problems.  I was then sent for an MRI scan of the area and again no issues were found, or at least none were visible.

My problem was still present - a hard flaccid penis, with solid two veins that feel like guitar strings.  Again weeks past and I heard nothing from the urologist with regards to a follow up and had received no diagnosis on the condition.  I visited my GP and they wrote a letter to the urologist on my behalf.  Eventually I received another appointment (albeit months after).  The urologist had moved office and had none of my notes or scan results.  He still said my condition was bizarre and decided to diagnose it as possibly micro scars across the penis caused by a priapism (although I have no recollection of this actually happening) and some form of Peyronies. Part of me hoped he was wrong as most of my symptoms are in the flaccid penis. When erect, although it bends to the left about 30 degrees, it has always been bent and so I am fairly confident I was born with the bend.  There is no palpable plaques I can feel and occasionally it returns almost entirely to normal albeit with the solid veins.  I am perplexed by his diagnosis as it seems it was at odds with what he told me originally.  Also when informing me of the diagnosis he said that he "thinks" he has explained it and said "there's no need to explain it further is there?" as if talking to himself, he seemed to be attempting to convince himself more than me, as if he actually had no idea as to the cause.

Anyway he has now recommended that I "rehabilitate" my penis and has booked me in to see a VED vendor who will be visiting the hospital in the near future.  I am still waiting even for confirmation of this appointment however.  I have been prescribed no other medication.

This is my story so far, sorry for its length but I wanted to cover everything and if you've read through this epic wedge of text I appreciate it. :)

I read it   ;)

If I understand correctly your erection hasn't changed any, and the ability for sex and achieving climax hasn't changed. So be happy for that. I don't know about the hard flaccid or the hard veins, but using a VED for therapy to stretch your penis would make sense to me. Go to the board on VEDs and read up on what several men have done for therapy.

regarding your ability for sex.
Carefully with the VED. The VED is an excelled aid for many things, but you should be carefull not overpumping. Pump to the level that you fill comfortable, any small uncomfortable feeling, release the pressure. Use manual pump, not electrical.

Thank you both for the replies.  Yes I can still achieve an erection.  My issue is mainly a comfort issue due to the hard flaccid symptom.  If I bang my penis for example when jogging it causes me great pain.  It is like a constant feeling of tightness that very occasionally lets up almost completely and the penis returns to normal.

It was the urologist who diagnosed me with peyronies and not I and although of course he speaks from experience I am still quite unsure myself.  I am not aware of peyronies completely resolving itself albeit temporarily.  But perhaps I am just being blinded by hope.  Either way the main thing to do now is to proceed with some form of treatment I suppose.

I am very appreciative that I have retained sexual function and my heart genuinely goes out to those who are heavily affected by peyronies.

Pentox (or Trental) is the drug of choice for dealing with penile pain.

James has posted a very useful document on the effects of Pentox here.
