My Name is Vidur (30 Yrs)

Im from India and have been suffering from Peyronies for the longest time.

I have not tried any treatment so far but have spent a lot of money visiting doctors on Harley Street (London) only to be disappointed. Its odd that they seem to have an almost lack of knowledge for this ED. I am visiting the US in June'13 and would be consulting the doctors there. I am really hoping the XIAFLEX treatment is a cure for this problem - as everyone can imagine it takes a psychological toll as well.

Good luck to all the members of this forum, which i am hoping will be able to not only provide me with support but also give important information on Peyronie (treatments / doctors contact etc).

Hello Inde and welcome to the forum.  First, are certain you are dealing with Peyronies Disease and not congenital curvature?

Also, is there a specific area of the U.S. that you will limited to in your visit?

Finally, as you may know, XIAFLEX is a treatment and not a cure.  I should say potential treatment because it has not even been approved by the FDA yet for a treatment for Peyronies and it likely will not be approved before May at the very earliest.

For now, the drug is essentially unavailable to Urologist since all trials have ended.  If cost is an issue, if it is approved, it will likely be VERY expensive to those without insurance.

Here is a link to our board on Developmental Drugs where you can read a lot about Xiaflex. Developmental Drugs & Treatments - PDS - Peyronies Society Forums

Hey Hawk

Thanks for your reply.

Yes i am sure its Peyronie. I will travelling to San Francisco and New York - consulting doctors being my primary reason to visit. I read on this forum a recommendation for Columbia Medical Centre in NYC. I think i will be getting myself an appointment there.

XIAFLEX is a hope for sure - i would consult the doctors on this medication.

Hawk

Well, If your main reason to travel the whole way from India is to see doctors about Peyronies Disease then I would probably see these two.  In most opinions, there just are no better.

Hawk, as good as my urologist is, he flat out told me (I live in the S.F. Bay Area) to go see Dr. Lue. My urologist's practice has within it other skillful surgeons but he said the man for me is Lue. Now, it's a matter of getting a referral to him. So, yeah, in northern CA, the best doctor is Dr. Lue.

Save your time and money seeing other docs and go to Dr. Lue. I can attest not only to his expertise, but also to his excellent bedside manner. You will walk out feeling like you have a chance to heal.

Roy, thank you for that info. I'm gonna push for a referral to Dr. Lue when I see my regular urologist on 2/12/13.
