Hi mechman,
It sounds like you haven't been very lucky with the urologist you saw and merely suggesting vitamin E is a very old fashioned treatment for Peyronies with little evidence that it actually works. I would strongly suggest you try to see another urologist a.s.a.p and go privately if necessary to somebody who deals frequently with Peyronies Disease because the NHS is slow moving in these cases. In any case I would suggest that such a high dosage of Vitamin E is likely to do more harm than good because there are serious downsides to heavy consumption over long periods.

Please spend some time on the forum reading about the condition and try finding a doctor who will prescribe Pentox and Cialis etc. The sooner the better. I would really avoid squeezing the lump like that as well but the usage of a VED or traction can be useful, especially at the early stages. Can you tell us more about your condition such as curvature etc?

For immediate help without prescription look at options like ALC, L-Arginine and CoQ10 that you can order on Amazon and start immediately. When I was suffering pain during the early stages it was 90% gone within three days of starting with these supplements.

Good luck

Hi mate thanks for getting back. There's no curvature at the moment and the night time erections eighter ar'nt happening or have eased off.  But now I just feel like a annoying pain under the head of my penis And as if something is irritating the inside.   I'm just wondering now if its a side effect of the vit e. or ginsing tabs I have been taking.     My gp didn't seem to have a clue he just took a urine sample.  And then Said it must be the peyronies. And when I saw the specialist in early nov he just said take vit e.  he never even said how much to take I'm just following the instructions on the bottle

Pain during erections is often the first sign of Peyronies for most men and it was for me. Over time that will tend to subside but will generally last several months without treatment, though every case is different. Right now BEFORE you get the curvature is the perfect time to get stuck in and possibly even reverse the condition before it progresses. It's quite frequent for men with Peyronies to suffer weaker erections because the plaque is interfering with your circulation and not getting those night time erections is not a great sign.

Having pain while being flaccid is also common during the early stages but I doubt it's a side effect of your Vitamin E and ginseng. For the first two months I was on maximum dose ibuprofen all the time, which helped with the pain but it doesn't get to grips with the condition at all. The two key elements to beating Peyronies are to promote good blood flow and reduce inflammation, which is really just an unhealed scar, so it's important that you do whatever you can to improve your overall health. It's not uncommon for GPs to be clueless about Peyronies Disease; in fact I'm starting to think it's a job requirement based on my own experience.

A urologist simply telling you to take Vitamin E without any follow up information is the sort of response that makes most people on this forum pretty angry but unfortunately it's all too common. The first urologist I saw said "there is no cure or treatment, so accept it and get on with your life". This was after a ten second examination. You have to put that behind you now and see what you can do to fix this.

It could be that you have a very mild case of Peyronies but it's a progressive condition that tends to worsen over time and the longer you leave it the harder it is to treat. Just to be clear there is no magic wand cure that fixes this overnight but you need to get informed and start speaking with a specialist who is knowledgeable about Peyronies.

In my case I started with no curvature but lost time dealing with with my GP and the NHS urologist when I could have been treating it in the early stages. Personally I'd recommend going private to get some proper treatment and then they can send a letter asking your GP to prescribe whatever they suggest. Most people on this forum feel that Pentox is the cornerstone for Peyronies treatment but also tend to fight it on many fronts including a VED.

You really need to avoid having the plaque harden and calcify because at that point it becomes much harder to treat. Since pushing with the treatments shown in my signature I've felt my plaque soften quite a bit over the last couple of months and I get nocturnal erections every night. You can certainly start with treatments like L-Arginine, CoQ10 and ALC immediately without any prescription and just order them online. Carry on with the Vitamin E by all means but I'd lower the dose to no more than 500IU per day balanced out by Vitamin K.

Do take some time to read as much information as you can on the forum. I know it's bewildering and confusing at first not to mention a little scary but this is the best resource on the internet for dealing with Peyronies and the more informed you are the better. Above all it's important to keep a positive frame of mind.

cheers for your advice mate what strength l argine and co10  would you buy and how many should i take a day   i really appreciate the help i can see other users use callias would our nhs support this do you think

Opinions will vary on suitable dosages and sometimes it's worth easing your way into any new supplement by gradually increasing the quantities. For L-Arginine I am currently taking 1g three times a day, which is a little more than most people but it's not causing me any problems.

The standard dosage for CoQ10 is 3 x 100mg per day. It should be pointed out that some people suggest using ubiquinol instead when you are over 40, which is basically the same substance but already broken down into a form that is more easily absorbed.

I am currently taking Cialis after the private urologist I saw sent a letter recommending it in combination with Pentox, so now I get both on the NHS and I just have to pay around £15 a month for the prescription.

The urologist did say the GP might kick up a fuss after a while because Cialis is quite expensive over the longterm in which case you may need to fight your corner but so far they haven't said anything. I should add that the NHS didn't even suggest I take Vitamin E and I found them almost hostile in their approach. What I discovered is that by growing a slightly thick skin and talking in very blunt but polite terms about the disease they tend to back down.

Seeing a private urologist would probably cost around £180 for an initial appointment and if you can afford it I would say it is probably money well spent if it gets you on the right track. There are a small number of urologists in the country with a good track record for Peyronies though you may have to travel some way depending on where you live.
