Hi all

99% sure I have just "contracted" peyronies...  39 years old and I have developed a sudden extreme crook in my erect penis.  Just at the point between the shaft and the head it takes a hard (no pun intended) right turn about 70 degree angle.  It happened over night.  It's very noticeable, and it's a tough time right now.

I know very little about this disease and I'll be doing alot of reading.  From what I can see there isn't much for a cure :(

see you around...

Sorry you found it necessary to join us. Cure, no. Improvement, yes! There are a number of things you can begin doing to help improve your situation. I think you will find that the gold standard for treatment is Pentox. Add to that some supplements like CoQ10, Acetyl L Carnitine, L Arginine, and Cialis. All these will help. And most of us here are using a VED to help restore what we had. Your doctors will likely tell you to take Vit E and wait.. The E is ok, but waiting is not. Get busy now. I waited almost two years and all I got for it was two years of lost treatment. Study. Read everything you can find. And stay active in this forum. Get busy. There is hope!

Thanks Norm, that's just what I needed.  I've been reading these threads non-stop for a couple hours now, I see the need for immediate therapy.

I'm wondering now if this disease affects libido?  I've always had a somewhat lower than average libido from what I can tell...  But lately it's been so low I'm ok to masturbate once a week.  (I'm single) I thought I was just getting old but now I think might have to do with this disease.

The guy who created this forum deserves a medal :)

Jaxon,

Anything we find stressful, alarming, worrisome, or depressing, can affect libido.  More often however low testosterone affects the libido and that is an underlying risk factor for Peyronies Disease, so it is usually the other way around.

Most assuredly, Peyronies Disease affects your libido. I liken it to performance anxiety. Any time your manhood comes into question, your libido does a downward spiral. Getting on the road to improvement will help that. Remember, there are millions of guys out there with this same problem. It takes a fair amount of courage to come here and confess your imperfection. You have taken that step. You are way ahead of the rest of them. Now it's just a matter of choosing a treatment and getting on with it. This forum is probably the best friend you have right now. Thousands of men with a common problem? All looking for an answer? This is the place to be!

You guys really do rock!  This is definitely the place to be... Thank you.  I lost some sleep last night after educating myself on this forum.  I'm more worried than I was.

Question:  I can still create and maintain a good erection and have intercourse.  And I am still having the nighttime and morning erections as normal.  Would a VED still help me ?

And now the medal ceremony:  Hawk I hereby bestow upon you the Medal of Honour as surely for every man joining this forum there are 50 more who find it extremely helpful, as I have.  I'd never heard of this disease before I got it, and surely there is more information in this forum from the members knowledge and experience than most of the crappy doctors out there have.  Well done sir!

Now we get into the area of opinion. And as the saying goes, "Everybody has one".  Here is mine;
I think even you get enough erections to supply all the oxygen you need for a healthy penis, a 3 tube VED may well help in correcting your curve and preventing loss of size.  I think a cheaper single cylinder VED would help prevent loss of size and with a curve or bend of over 30 degrees would help correct your curve but probably not as good as a 3 cylinder model.

However, I personally believe that traction would give you more progressr IF you used it 4 or more hours per day.  The problem is finding 4 hours in a day because while some wear traction at work, I find it is it is a major challenge to do so.

Hi I posted yesterday on a different thread and got a reply but not an answer. If you have the nesbit, what are the scars like?

Hawk,

Thanks for your reply below, when I first read it I really didn't understand, but with more research I'm with you now.

I personally think that traction will not help me alot, remember my curve starts where the shaft meets the glans.  But now I have gone ahead and ordered some pentox (from a shady site) and some  CoQ10 and Arginine as well as a "Penis Pump".  I really hope it works like a VED, I searched and searched for a VED and could not find one so I opted in for this...  do you know, is it the same thing?  I hope so....

On another note, I am starting to feel like I might be one of the luckier ones in this, as I think I might have made some improvements in the last week.  I should really take some measurements to be sure but it looks like the curve is down from 70 degrees and maybe a bit of length back.... Overall I feel pretty good.

So I'm thinking VED is my best approach over all and any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

Jaxon,

Great to hear you may be improving.

Take those measurement now. It is part of getting serious.  Write down the numbers.

A pump is a VED.  It is the same thing.  If you had trouble finding a decent one it is because you did not ask here.  They run the gambit from junk to quality crafted medical grade.

I want just to add that I am using a simple VED bought from a (hidden) sex shop because the medical grade are not available here and I am using it with no problems.

Vacuum is vacuum.  It does not matter what VED produces it.  The cheap ones will stop working but they won't be less effective while they are working.  With cheap ones you may find rougher edges, components that fail, lack of a good seal, no release valve, but again, if it pumps a vacuum the vacuum from a cheap single cyinder is as good as a vacuum from an expensive single cylinder as long as it lasts.
