Hi my name is Ron. I am 42 years old and just received my diagnosis. My doctor said there really is nothing I can do. Has anyone tried anything that works to reduce the scar tissue

I have not tried anything yet. My erections make my penis curve to the left big time.  hate it.

Welcome RG

That was a pretty short first post :)  In short, we would not be here if there was nothing you can do.

If you could let us know a bit more about yourself such as some of following questions.  Only answer the information you don't mind sharing:

Age?
What did your medical doctor conclude?
What kind of doctor was it.
How long have you had symptoms?
What are your symptoms?
What treatments have you tried and what were the results?
Do you have insurance or the means to get treatment?
Where are you in dealing with the psychological aspects of Peyronies Disease?
Are you in a relationship?

Thanks hawk

I am 42 years old and yes I am married. My symptoms started about a year ago while I was having intercourse it started to hurt when I would get an erection. My doctor is a G.P but very consults with a urologist. I also have to take testosterone shots every 3 weeks. My penis has two lumps that I can feel. The larger of the 2 is on the left side and when erect  makes my penis bend to the left. It is painful. The most of my pain started about 5 months ago. I have not tried any treatments yet and I do have medical coverage. I herd that I should take high doses of vitamin e. Any other suggestions.

rgnugent,

I'm sure you will get some good advice here from those more experienced than me, but I wish that I had undertaken some way of documenting the progression of my deformity.  I have had it for 2 years and on my next appointment, I am going to ask my specialist to use whatever equipment he needs or has, to take pictures of and measure the lumps.

Because of the uncertainty of the disease and how it will affect, or continue to affect, me, I would like to know if the plaques are done growing, if they are being diminished, etc..,.  I have no base point to be able to determine if any of the things I've tried have helped, or being able to say with certainty that, "This worked" or "They might as well have injected this into the wall".

In my case, I noticed a dent on one side of my penis about half way up on the left.  I was given ultrasound treatment and my bend and pain got progressively worse.  What I DON'T KNOW, is if the disease was still progressing (lumps growing) and if the ultrasound slowed any growth.

Take the advice that you get here and weigh it carefully - including mine.  Since you have had the disease for around a year, I would think you will want to try a course that was a little more aggressive than mine.  My specialist also suggested arginine with the idea that, "It can't hurt."  Arginine is an amino acid that is a vaso-dialotor (opens blood vessels) and that will help with blood circulation to the injured areas - which is never a bad thing.  Also, get a baseline measurement of the plaques if you can.

Good Luck,

Pointedly

One of the most important things with Peyronies is to treat it early as possible.
Have many things you can do. Regarding Vitamin E, most of the testimonies are that is not doing nothing.
I was proposing a daily treatment as bellow:
3*400mg Pentox (Trental), if too much side effects 2*400mg.
2.5 to 5mg Cialis
2*500mg L-Carnitine
2*1000mg L-Arginine
3*100mg Ubiquinol, if younger than 40 may use 3*100mg CoQ10, much cheaper
VED, 20 minutes
You can expect improvements after six months or more, some people have faster improvement. Consistency is the key of this treatment.

I will advise you also to read the forum to understand what and how the above medications/supplements are helping with Peyronies.

Thanks for the advise guys. I will start what ever I can to try to help. I do not need and aids to help with erections at this point and am still having intercourse, although it hurts during penetration.  I am starting the amino acid today and the c0Q10. Guess we will see what happens. Just for your info. My lumps are both at the base and when I get erect, the base of my shaft becomes very tight  and makes the upper part look  huge. I do not like the deformity and am very conscious of it now, especially when aroused.

I would like to repeat that Pentox most probably will solve your pain problem, with no pain you will feel much better.
