This is my first post - name is mike and live in Colorado - turn 55 in 11 days
I have been dealing with Peyronies Disease and ED. The Peyronies Disease Started in April of 2011 and the ED started about 4 -5 years ago
I was very embarrassed to tell my general practitioner, he is a DO, he sent me to a urologist with 45 years experience.  My urologist tried 8 injections of verapamil with no success.  He has recommended the graft procedure that he was trained on in Brazil.  Also recommends I get an implant.... Also, I am not circumcised and need to have that done during the graft and implant procedure.  That is an lot for my modest size penis to deal with!  My wife of 31 years is ok with getting the curve fixed, does not ace either way about the circumcision, but thinks I should just use Viagra instead of the implant.
Any thoughts or comments from someone with similar situation?
Thanks mike

Mike,

I have a few thoughts here but they are sketchy because I don't know enough about your situation.

First, It is my understanding that in the vast majority of cases an implant removes any requirement for curve correction surgery of any kind.  Some may retain some curve after the implant but it is well within the margins needed for intercourse and it continues to straighten for a long period after the implant.  So I say if you get the implant that is likely all you need since an implant surgery does NOT require circumcision.

Now, if you can get an effective erection with Viagra you may opt for a graft and forget the implant.

Here are the 3 most important things you need to know:

1. Pick a RENOWN surgeon.
2. Pick a RENOWN surgeon.
3. Pick a RENOWN surgeon.

Such surgeons are few and far between, but he is cutting on a pretty important member that you only have one of.   Never let a surgeon that does not specialize in penile surgery touch you.  If he does other surgeries like tacking up female bladders, kidney stones etc. leave. He should have a thousand or more surgeries like the surgery he is performing on you already under his belt.  He should do at minimum a hundred of those surgeries a year.

It would help to know more about your degree of bend and whether Viagra works, etc.

Good luck

I agree with Hawk. What you "need" depends on your current situation.
1. Are you able to have satisfactory intercourse?
2. Does Viagra/Cialis address the ED?
3. Do you have any pain

Bottom line is if you can have satisfactory, comfortable sex using meds, then why risk the surgery?
