hello just found out that i have this condition, was told that there were various things that could be done such as a sort of ultrasound but he was not convinced with results he had seen with patients, also said that in his opinion it was a bit of a paradox to treat scarred tissue by hitting it further with ultrasound. He seemed to think that it was best to take vitimin e for 6 months and come back to see him. He said that i might try the internet for answers as there was no cure he was aware of but he would welcome ideas however leftfield they may be ....at least he is honest i suppose but its not very comforting.  I am trying to think what to say to my wife, how will she react ..i really feel quite low with it all.

You get to the only forum that you can get sincere information regarding this disease, not supported and influenced by any medicine manufacturer or doctors.

You have find a uro that don't have knowledge in the subject but as you say:
Quoteat least he is honest i suppose
His sentence:
Quotebest to take vitimin e for 6 months and come back to see him
is the worst think you can do because now in the acute stage, in the beginning of the disease you have very big chance to stop an even reverse the disease.
From the other side, his openness is a very positive thing:
Quotehe would welcome ideas however leftfield they may be
is a very positive thing. Maybe you have found an uro as I found that is ready to learn together with you.
The most important thing is to get on Pentox and low dose Cialis as soon as you can. Pentox is the first line treatment to stop the disease and Cialis will help dissolving the scar tissue.
Ask your uro to prescribe both (Pentox 400mg & Cialis 5mg) immediately and begin treatment. Don't lose time!!!
Personally I have made a very BIG mistake not making any treatment for the first two years.

My daily treatment includes:
2*400mg Pentox - Pentox makes the red blood cells flexible so they can carry better the oxygen into the smallest veins
4mg Cialis (I am cutting the 20mg in 5 pcs, don't have insurance so this is the cheepest way) helps with the scar tissue and general penis health
2*100mg Ubiquinol - helps with the blood circulation. If you are younger than 40  you can replace it with CoQ10
2*1000mg L-Arginine - helps stimulate and energise the body (body builders are using up to 5000mg dilly)

Invest time and read the forum. It will give you knowledge about the disease.
Regarding your wife, talk with her after you will get better knowledge about the disease and begin treatment. My private opinion.

Write more details about your problems that forum members may come up with some advices

Hope the information helps and welcome to the forum

I fully agree with James !!!
the vitamin E will do you no harm, but it wont change anything.

As to the ultrasound, there is a section where it has been discussed. you a right.. the results are not overwhelming, although some have had a few results. but even those are very limited.

What I would do: go to the ressource section and print out the studies about pentox and cialis (all other products are prescription free).
bring them to your uro. as he seems open minded he is bound to give you a prescription for pentox (its called Trental)
James has problems supporting 3x a day as given in the studies.
You should try 3x a day. If you encounter problems (like James) with the side effects, then you should go down to 2x a day like he did.

But as james said, dont wait !!! get back to your uro asap!

I'm with the two guys below. Just taking Vitamin E really isn't a great way to combat peyronie's. At least your urologist seems open to exploring other treatments, so this could prove to be a learning curve for him too.
