I am way too embarrassed to go to the doctors to discuss this.  Is one photo allowed??  If so, please tell me where to post or send it in a personal email.  I need somebody to see "it" and tell me if I do, in fact, have Peyronies.  It's been like this for years now and it is to the point where I need Viagra.  Thank you in advance.

rmmember,

If you're not sure whether you have Peyronies Disease, then you need a diagnosis of your condition by a medical doctor, no if, ands or buts.

Sorry about your embarrasment issue, it's understandable but it is certainly not a reasonable excuse for failing to get a credible diagnosis.  IMO, you're wasting time and energy trying to diagnose your condition without a medical doctor.  You're probably doing harm to yourself in a variety of ways without a proper diagnosis.

Spend your time trying to locate a urologist or other medical doctor profficient with Peyronies Disease.  This forum can help you to that extent, but cannot and should not convince you of a diagnosis.

Hang in there, I'm pulling for you.

I agree with cowboyfood. Our opinion is no substitute for a professional diagnosis. Especially if the diagnosis is for something other than Peyronies Disease.

You need an urologist that have knowledge in Peyronie's. Have discussions on the forum regarding doctors in different places.
You may find a specialist close to you in "Urologists and Other Doctors" under "Other Peyronie's Disease Discussion Boards" but also in other discusion boards.
Also if you will give more details about your situation it may help people on the forum to help you.
Everyone (or almost everyone) in my opinion is embarrassed by the situation but you must come over if you want help from a doctor. In all my visits to the uro was a nurse in the room, I can't tell the doctor that I don't want her there.

A urologist is what you are looking for and one with a good knowlege of peyronies. Here in the UK you have to see your gp first who then will refer you to a urologist.  In my case I told my gp which uro I wanted to be refered to. Do some research on the internet and have a look on this forum for suggestions or even a specific uro in your area.  Good luck.

100% agree...
Dont forget: an urologist ALWAYS will take at least an urine sample, and in 90% of the cases he will want to have a look at your penis.
He has appointments all day and gets the strangest things to see. For him your penis will be something he deals with every day. (same with the nurse)
Its like if you go and see a mechanic for your car and are embarrassed when he wants to look at the engine.
Its his job. And whatever you may look like, he and his nurse have probably seen worse.
Also remember: you go and see him to be diagnosed, not admired.

I agree with the posters below and I guarantee that yours isn't even the most messed up ding dong that the urologist will see all day, not even the top 5. Go to the doctor. It's the first step to getting yourself on the right treatment path.

This is the tough question. You can't just look up uro's who hang "Peyronies" on their door. Many urologists can diagnose Peyronies Disease, but then will tell you that "There is nothing that can be done and you will learn to live with it". That was the first answer I got and it made me angry.

You will see posted here many times that the first choice will be a handful of doctors across the U.S. who are recommended on this board. They can diagnose Peyronies Disease and are aggressive with techniques to treat it. If you aren't close to any of these, then the next choice is to find a doctor who specializes in male sexual function. These are often referred to as Andrologists outside the U.S.

We often tend to think of going to urologists when there is a problem with our penis. But urology is a broad term that really refers to the functioning of the urinary system. But many urologist will tend to specialize in certain areas.

lwillisjr - LMAO! at that first sentence.  Yep, couldn't find that in the yellow pages LOL  -  OK, all kidding aside you have all made very good, valid points.  I hope this helps other people get the courage to go get this checked out.  I have an appointment with my PCP and will ask him for a recommendation.  It's so funny, the doctor will give out Viagra like it's candy but never asks "why" I need it???

I was recently referred to Paul Hegarty,Consultant Urologist at Guy's Hospital,London.
I would strongly reccommend him.
What are your symptoms?
Sharing such info can often help to find a good course of treatment.

to anyone too embarrassed to go to the Dr.  I was like that too at one point. On my follow up apt to activate my implant my wife went in the exam room with me. Two male Dr's and a female intern entered the room. The Dr said "lets take a look" I dropped my pants and they showed me how to pump it up. There i was with a hard-on in plain sight of a women and it didnot bother me in the least.  My wife on the other hand was mortified! All my wife would say is ............"But you were HARD!"...... After a while having strangers look at your penis is no big deal. I'm am actually PROUD of it !

Can you give us some more details regarding your Peyronies and Dr. Hegarty treatment?
We have limited information regarding good doctors in the UK.
