Hi everyone.

I am strongly considering an implant only I believe I am in an active period of Peyronie's.

I understand that surgeons don't want to do corrective surgery such as plication or incision and grafting during active period due to the risk of re occurrence of curve .......but how about an implant?

I believe I am in an active phase as I have pain.

Yes I will be asking my urologist but I'm keen to hear from any men who had an implant during their active period or anyone's thoughts.

Thank you so much.

Hawk would be the one to give you a correct answer regarding this. :)

The answer to that will only come from the High-Volume (100 + implants a year) implant specialist you choose.  A general urologist will be zero help.

Not only would I never consider plication surgery, but I would not even go to a doctor who performs plication surgery.

Thank you Hawk.

I will be asking my implant specialist about this....at my consult. I'm not  seeing a general Urologist. In regards to plication......too late I just have to deal with where I am at........its my next move, or decisions that counts now.....

From the forum I'm just looking to hear others opinion or lived experienced that's all. Perhaps there is some one out there who has had a similar experience.

All the best ....

I really apologize.  I should have read your signature line instead of wasting time with non-helpful comment.

Although I was not in an active phase when I had my implant, several did have pain, and it did not delay surgery, and as far as I recall, the pain resolved with surgery.

Hopefully others will respond.

AussieMale:

I don't have an implant, but from what I read on the guidelines and on Dr's websites, you fit the criteria to be an implant candidate.

Have a look at this treatment flow chart from a leading expert on peyronies. https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/treatments/

The key thing would be to find a reputable surgeon that you can't trust, that has the expertise to do this surgery well in the first place.

Pfract,

I have been trying to send you a pm for several months, but your mailbox is always full.
Can you clean it up?
It's frustrating as I type out a long message, only to get a message saying your mailbox is full. I'm
Many thanks

Hello Hawk.

I can say.....apology accepted. No worries. I know also your intentions are good always. Trying to help other men.....so let me say thank you.

I am very glad to hear that men have reported pain resolution on implant. Hopefully I will be one of them should this go ahead.

I have also found a post on here from Dr Eids who stated the same.....that pain very typically resolved, and no one really knows why.

This is all of course very encouraging to hear.

For the time being I have a consultation and it's good to know this background information.

Once again thank you.

Sorry stepone. I will take care of that now!

Booked for next month. I'm hoping to join the ranks of others who have put this disease behind them as best they can with a successful implant.
