I've been dealing with this condition for more than 2 years.
Started as a feeling of slight inflammation/feeling of constriction under the glans, most probably due to some rough masturbation. Also, at the time I took a lot of vitamin D and calcium for some other problem.
Didn't pay much attention to it until a couple of months later my penis started to bend.

I've seen 5 different urologists/andrologists and every one has a different advice: one proposes verapamil but warns of possible scarring due to injections (microtrauma), another thinks I should "wait and see", the last andrologist thinks penile implant is the way to go.

I have multiple plaques with some calcification.

I've tried ant inflammatory gels, vitamin C, E, propolis, castor oil etc. Nothing seems to work.

I can get an erection but it seems to me that every time I engage in sex or masturbation the condition
worsens. It is like the inflammation is still there somewhere.

The most difficult thing is to deal with psychological stress.

After more than 2 years of this, this past 2 weeks my penis shrunk. I was a grower and an average one so when my penis shrunk 1 cm overnight it hit me very hard. I had no idea how much my placid penis size meant to me until this happened.

I've been dealing with other health issues non stop for the past 6 years and that struggle left me exhausted.
Peyronie's was the last thing I needed.

I'm barely coping mentally.

Welcome!

We've all dealt with the psychological aspects.  It sucks.  You have to keep yourself busy and try not to think about it constantly, I know how that sounds.  Listen to music, play video games, go out with friends.  If you have a close friend, talk to them about it, it's a huge help.
I have a girlfriend

Welcome Pman to the forum and thank you for filling out your signature line. Also please download and reaf our survival guide -->Survival Guide. This will give you a better understanding of peyronies and it's different treatments.

So first I would say that going the implant route would not be what I would recommend yet. Have you looked into traction therapy? The Restorex or PMP to help get back some lost length and correct your curvature. Things can be re-stretched out somewhat with time.  Do you have any first preliminary measurements of your penis? Have you been using Cialis or like minded drugs? They provide fresh oxygen and stretching to your penis and help reduce inflammation. You stated that you are also dealing with other health related issues. A lot of us also have been down this road. Deal with each one individually.

Have you had your testosterone levels assessed? Have you lost any muscle mass or is your libido waning? If perhaps you are hypogonadal then that needs to be corrected with TRT.

Worrying and obsessing over your penis is something you need to get control over as this is the issue with a lot of us men here. Our penis is an extension of our manhood and we need to realize that we are still men regardless of what is happening to us physically. We are here to give you support and help and tell you that you are not alone in this. We have been there also and know that there is light at the end of this horrible tunnel. Peyronies does not discriminate with any man young or old. You must adopt the mindset that this is a marathon and not a sprint. Correcting and treating this disease takes a dedicated time and effort. You will see some level of correction if you take hold of this mindset.

Also are you happy with your Dr? Your Dr must be willing to work with you and listen to your concerns. I would completely dismiss any Dr who wouldn't take the time and really listen to me. There are not a lot of Dr's who are educated in peyronies treatment or qualified.

Regarding sex/masturbation you need to be careful now and not worsen things more. Lubrication and gentleness is what you should be looking at . If you are experiencing any pain it is best to hold off of sex until it subsides. Also a strong erection is preferred for intercourse and no marathon episodes.

Read the forum and you will get some comfort in knowing that we have all been there.  This is the best forum on the internet for peyronies. Get a new mindset and go forward from today. Tomorrow is fresh and new with no mistakes in it! :)

Two years can be exhausting. I'm sorry. Your experience with urologists/andrologists isn't uncommon. I had two urologists before finally getting a competent surgeon. But I obsessed over it and demanded my surgeon after a year being on this forum. (Thanks, Hawk)

I had/have two large plaques that impressed one urologist very much. No comfort in that at all.

I was also a grower with a small flaccid. I get it. But I'm recovering from implant surgery and it won't be small anymore. It's one option, but I had great results with RestoreX re length and curvature. But it won't address girth. At least not for me.

I'd recommend first looking through this site and finding a qualified urologist in your area if you doubt your doctor in any way. And don't forget that we ALL barely coped with this curse at some point. Be patient and bury yourself in knowledge.

Although I can still get a strong erection, the implant is something the last Dr recommended. I went to that Dr because he used to do hyaluronidase injections. He has since abandoned the practice because of the scaring induced by injections. The Doc said that he also abandoned the "wait and see" practice because of the eventual shortening of the penis. I saw him about a year ago and he said I had about 6-8 months before the shortening is likely to occur. Looks like he was right. That's the reason he recommended the implant because, according to him, after the penis shortens the implant can't recover the loss. If they put too long an implant it would cause damage to the penis.

I've looked into traction and even purchased the traction device but when I tried it it was very uncomfortable. I am afraid it would induce additional plaqs. Not to mention impracticality of wearing that thing for hours.
I've heard good things about Restorex and apparently even a moderate amount of daily use could get good results but last I checked I cannot get that device in Europe. Also, it is very pricey.

I've checked my testosterone level because of another problem (osteophorosis) and the levels are just fine. No muscle mass loss as far as I can tell.

Now that the shrinkage has occurred Im thinking about VED. I was hoping daily use would get more blood into the penis and stretch it without applying direct mechanical pressure.

The first red flag that I see from your Dr is that he wasn't knowledgeable on using traction to prevent any shortening at all on your penis. Yes he was correct in that you would loose size. I'm sorry you are where you are now. I would never ever let him perform an implant on me. You really need a new Dr and if it would come down to an implant I would suggest Dr Eid in NYC. Check out his credentials. Why don't you post a question to him. He is one of our Dr's on the forum.

I knew about traction and one of the things I tried was andropenis device https://www.andropenis.com.au/ but when I tried it I did not like it. The amount of force the band applies to the area below the glans is substantial and I was worried it would cause damage. My body seems to react to repeated physical pressure by forming hardened tissue.

The doctor in question said himself that he is not the guy to do the operation since he has very few cases and recommended another doc in another country.

I know of dr Eid and dr Levine but I am in Europe so no medicare or US health insurance and thus could not afford it.

Right now I am reconsidering traction to prevent further loss but instead of andropenis, maybe I could try penimaster that has the suction cup to hold the glans in place. Also I will try a VED but am unsure which device to try. Again, I'm in the EU so my options are limited since many manufacturers are only shipping to the US, Canada and the UK.

The PMP is a more gentle traction device that might suit you better now. You really need to reconsider traction though. I started with the PMP and got some pretty good results on lost length.

Efen after placid size loss my erect penis is still pretty usable 6+ inches. I will try PMP hoping it would reduce the curvature, increase placid size and prevent more loss. I am unsure of one thing. There is very slight hourglassing under the glans. If I stretch the penis with traction, wont that hourglassing become more pronounced ?
