Concern about injection to induce erection for U/S examination

Hi Everyone,

TLDR: Have second ultrasound with injection in three weeks. Concerned about the risks and making things worse as things seem stable and manageable at the moment. Not sure if doing another one is worth the risk. Looking for peoples experience with multiple examinations with injection. Thanks!

In three weeks I have an ultrasound examination with the Urologist who has been treating me since this whole thing first started in April 2023. I am nervous, scared, and concerned about the injection and the risks associated with it. I had this examination done in July 2023 with 0.2 cc of Prostaglandin E1 80 mcg/mL mcg/mL was injected into the left corpora using a 30 G 1/2" needle, which showed no venous leakage; no observable plaque (according to the urologist); no fibrosis (according to the urologist); and a 20degree upward curve (new). According to the urologist, I have "excellent" venous trapping and erectile function.

Since then I have been treating my pelvic floor dysfunction, and taking 5mg generic cialis daily, along with Wellbutrin, and talk therapy. However, I think the curve upward has gotten worse and my penis bends to the right with indents in the middle-right. I am able to get and maintain erections long enough to ejaculate, but I have to really squeeze my pelvic floor muscles for this and I get pain at the tip of my penis whenever I do. Additionally, my penis bends to the right when in the half erection state then when fully erect has a slight bend to the right and an upward curve (is this peyronie's, PFD, or something else?). I also think I am starting to develop scar tissue, plaque, what-have-you at the base of my penis on the left side from how my penis bends in my pants when I get an erection with pants on.

I'm just unsure if the risk of complications or developing scar tissue or making things worse is worth the risk of this examination. I agreed to it since the upward curve looks like its getting worse along with the indents and the rightward curve, but that should impede intercourse. Additionally, there is indentation at the top of my penis like a cock-ring is stuck right below the glans. I never got an answer or confirmation on what is occurring here. I guess I'm looking to re-assurance that the injection will be fine, even getting multiple ejections. The procedure is in three weeks and I'm thinking of cancelling.

What is everyone experience with this? Has anyone gotten the Ultra-sound with injection done multiple times? How did things turn out?

I would not be so worried regarding the injections. I have had to deal with similar issues regarding pelvic floor dysfunction. Daily therapy/stretching has controlled it. I broke my tailbone about 7 years ago.

I also had an upward curvature of about 45* and using traction and VED have brought it down to about 15 * and almost normal. Have you considered trying these treatments also? You could help prevent things becoming worse. Restorex is awesome at helping curvatures.

Hi Mikel7, thanks for responding! I'll try not to think so much about the injections, overthinking is definitely an opportunity for growth. The urologist has mentions the traction device and it may help with girth and the way my erections "fill," but according to Dr. Trost, they tend to make pelvic floor dysfunction worse. Additionally, I have this indent or pinching right below the glans. Think of it as inflating a balloon but you pinch about an inch from the top, as you blow air into the balloon it inflates around your pinched fingers and that air doesn't fill. Right now that is kinda happening to my penis. Given the location and how RestoreX clasps the penis I am reluctant to do it. Also, I know I'm not going to commit 6+ hours to the other devices. RestoreX seems helpful, but could cause an issue given how my penis is filling. IDK though, Doctor hasn't really taken it seriously. I also went to Dr. Werner in NYC who also didn't really take it seriously and chalked it up to PFD.

From experience it is true that PFD does cause a lot of refereed pain in the groin area. It does not cause indentations or deformities though in your penis. It is true what Dr Trost said about traction affecting pelvic floor issues. There were times when I would have to stop traction because of a painful pulling sensation in my muscles down there.

Seems like the only realistic option is to hold on for as long as possible for an implant. There is deformity becoming erect and after an erection with indents and upward curvature while erect. I seriously try not to think about it since its depressing, but I do not know how else to communicate to the doctors. I'm also worried the injection will just cause more scarring to occur. I'm lucky I can get an erection, I'm sure with viagra or something I wouldn't have an issue with sex. But in the back of my head I'm concerned it will become worse. From this forum, what is your understanding of things stabilizing or getting worse?
