I was just diagnosed yesterday after 1.5 yrs of symptoms. 53 years old. My urologist is Dr. Lue at UCSF. He was very kind and easy to talk to. He recommended Xiaflex after ultrasound and discussion. I have a very high threshold for pain and am not worried about the side effects. No erectile dysfunction. Restorex has restored length and girth after 2 months of treatment, small change in curvature. 45 degree dorsal curve due to 2 very small plaques.

I have some concerns after reading Dr. Trost's aggressive treatment with Xiaflex that Dr. Lue might be a little bit conservative with treatment.

I will add more posts as treatment progresses to the appropriate topic boards. Thanks for all you do guys! This forum has been super helpful in understanding what I am dealing with.

Welcome Kthomas43 to the forum and thank you for filling out your signature line. Hopefully you have read our survival guide -->Survival Guide .

Xiaflex does have some benefits to some men. The success rate depends on the skills of the one administering it. Dr Trosts has his own methodology and expertise on administering it. He developed this and has had a great success with his patients. The proof is in the pudding so to speak.

I have no knowledge of Dr Lues methods on administering Xiafles. Perhaps othe rmembers here will chime in....

I agree with Mikel7, and Xiaflex does seem to be the current "Go to" treatment by several well known Peyronies doctors. If I recall it has about a 30-40% effective rating. When it was clinical trials the expectation was that it would be much better.

Always nice to see another success report of restorex! Welcome aboard. Dr Trost does video consultations and he may be licensed in your state. You can have a second opinion with him or his staff if you feel the need for it.

I have a consultation with Dr. Trost in February. I am awaiting insurance approval on the Xiaflex treatments, but it does not seem like it will be an issue. I think Dr. Trost is seeing even better numbers now that he's refined his treatment methods, but I am interested in seeing the studies.

Either way the improved length has brought back a bit of confidence. I am cautiously optimistic about further treatments. It's a tough disease to navigate.
