Hello, I am a 62-year-old professional musician and I got Peyronies right after I had Covid for four months. They are not entirely sure if there's a correlation but apparently a lot of people have been getting Peyronies after Covid and they think that it might be a correlation between soft tissue damage and Covid but they are not sure just yet. It could just be a matter of bad timing for me.

I noticed it when it occurred fairly quickly and it is an indentation on the right side and the shortening of the length. I don't have pain and I don't have large nodules but I do have a significant loss in terms of girth and length.

I am just about to start a 5 mg per day Cialis regimen and I am not sure I'm interested in injections with Xiaflex because I've heard so many bad things. I tried the pump but it wasn't really doing very much. I also have fairly low libido possibly because of low testosterone on my age or some aspect of psychological effects of having gotten Peyronies.

I Live in Spain and there is awareness in the medical system but not a lot of current information or support.

The main difficulty I am having is it feels like my sexuality was suddenly taken from me? Sex with my wife is uncomfortable and I am pretty self conscious about it. She is kind and seems to be understanding but I cannot explain to her the way it makes me feel different, damaged?

Working on it and am open to suggestions.

Thanks for letting me join this group

Welcome JohnnySync to the forum and thank you for filling out your signature line. Also please download and study our survival guide -->Survival Guide . This will give you a better understanding of peyronies and it's different treatments.

Men getting peyronies after covid has been a reoccurring theme but still it is peyronies and needs to be addressed.

You should get some preliminary measurements for future reference. Girth and length both flaccid and stretched and erect if possible. Photos are also a good tool so you can actually see what things looked like.

The main thing now is to try and prevent things from worsening and slow them down. Cialis will help with oxygen and reducing inflammation and it will keeps things stretched out.I would also suggest having your testosterone checked as you could possibly have hypogonadism or low T. You should ask for a free T test as this is the gold standard. I have been on full replacement for 20 years and know a few things about it.

Xiaflex can be beneficial if performed with the right Dr. Dr Trost is one of those who has developed his own personal protocol which has been proven to have a great outcome.
You should see if he does any online consults.

Talking things over with your wife will be good for you. I know it may feel awkward but maybe if you can write your feelings down on paper first it would help. Sex can change for us as we get older but it doesn't mean it has to be a lesser quality.

You should also look into traction and VED therapy now as this could prevent any further damage/shortening. There is a lot of info on the forum regarding such. Just keep in your mind that this is a marathon and not a sprint. You do need patience with this and a game plan.   :)

Thank you for all of that information. I do not know what the VED is?...but I will read about it here. I do have low testosterone and they had suggested using androgel but there are so many adverse side effects I have been hesitant. Here in Spain I don't think there is a lot of expertise in treating this. The Urologist I met with was pretty cavalier about treatment and I was not confident getting injections from her was a good idea. I did have an ultrasound and they said that the nodules were very small. I will continue with the Cialis and my wife and I were thinking of getting a pump but we're not really quite sure what to get? We have talked pretty openly between us but it's more an issue for me of being self-conscious and uncomfortable? Also I miss my wife in this way and it's just been a difficult transition I think. Again thank you for responding and letting me know all of this.
