One round of injections, great result!

My first diagnosis was almost three years ago. I did the standard two injections, four cycles, with no results. My last previous injections were in March of this year. I discovered Dr. Trost and had a phone consultation with a member of his treatment team and soon scheduled a new cycle of injections for Dec. 11 and 12. I had a 90-degree dorsal curve. I'll reveal the results below.

Dr. Trost is very aggressive with his treatment, especially on day 2, which involved stretching until a couple of pops could be heard, indicating the plaque was being broken up. Nitrous oxide was offered and accepted prior to treatment.

This treatment is not, however, for those with a low pain threshhold. I've had eye surgeries and repair of a torn rotator cuff and others, but this one beat them all for sheer pain. I lost count, but I had close to 15 injections for anesthesia, Xiaflex and, on Monday, to drain excess blood since the induced erection wasn't going away on its own. The overnight pain on both Monday and Tuesday was excruciating. Dr. Trost told me on Tuesday that he would call in some pain meds for me, which I declined at the time. Since he provides his patients with his personal cell number, I texted on Wednesday and said I need some meds. He was traveling and couldn't get it called in until Thursday morning, so it was a a huge relief to finally get it. I had gotten less than 9 hours of sleep from the time I got up Monday morning until Thursday night. Dr. Trost said the pain was a good sign, because it meant the plaque was breaking up and dislodging itself from some nerves directly under it, so after what I had been through, I expected incredible results!

The pain started to subside on Friday the 15th, and I've only had one pain pill since. My penis is still quite sore, but the swelling is less each day and I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it's a welcome sight. A downside is that I haven't been able to start using the Restorex device yet, but hope to in another week or so. Dr. Trost recommends 30 minutes a day, 15 for stretching and 15 for counter-bending. They have found there is very little if any additional benefit from using it more than that.

The overall experience at his clinic was amazing. It's located in a professional office building and is very neat, clean, and professionally run. The snow-capped Wasatch Mountains are clearly seen from inside the office. The PA (Josh, I believe) and an assistant are learning from the best.

I mentioned previously that I had a 90-degree dorsal curve, which was actually up 20 degrees from when I finished my first round of four cycles. After two days in Dr. Trost's office and 9 days of healing, I have no more curve. 0 degrees. Straight as an arrow!

Having been through a previous set of four cycles of injections with no improvement, I was approved for a research study he is doing using the treatment protocol I've described. While my insurance covered the treatment, I will receive a $500 reimbursement for being in the study, which will almost cover all of my airline cost for flying from Arkansas.

Bottom line... if you've tried and failed to get satisfactory results from your local providers, Dr. Trost should be your next phone call. If he treats you, don't try to tough out the pain on your own. Get the pain meds!

Three years since symptoms and diagnosis. 70° upward curve. After four cycles, improved to 55°, but up to 90° 6 months later. December '23, one treatment cycle by Dr. Trost. Curve reduced to approximately 15° after that one cycle.

Welcome CurevsRforHighways to the forum and an awesome first posting! Thank you for filling out your signature line and hopefully you have read our survival guide -->Survival Guide.

Dr Trost has developed his own set of protocols in using Xiaflex and his results speak for themselves. He has a high patient success rate and is also a very caring individual. Two awesome qualities that are hard to find these days in Dr's.

Keep us posted and congrats on your success! I'm sure you are feeling a heavy load taken off of your shoulders. Again thank you for your time and becoming a part of our peyronies forum.  :)

I really wish I lived in the states just so I could visit him. I've heard so many great things about him and the fact that he is a member on this forum and has an own section in which he has answered over 200 different questions shows that he is a very special individual. Props to him.

If cloning a human being was possible I would vote to have him cloned 26 times and then have an office in every other state. ;D

This was very nice to know CurvesforHighways! Very encouraging for other members that may be thinking about reaching out to his office.

Best of luck going forward with this disease. One thing I ask is, if you happen to have any pictures of your progress and treatment that you would like to share with the forum?

That would be great, but I totally understand if you prefer to be reserved about it.

Thanks for your kind words. I don't have any "before" pictures, but since I post anonymously, I don't mind posting an "after" the next time I have an opportunity to do so.

Still ramrod straight. Have a dent, but I notice it less, either it subsided a bit or I am just used to it.

X2 on Dr. Trost. He got me from 70 degrees to 20 degrees +- with one round of Xiaflex. It was not easy, it was not fun. But it's in the rearview mirror and it's literally onward and upward from here  :D  :)  >:D The Mrs. is most appreciative of Dr. Trost.....

Would you expound on your treatment recovery? I'm 40 days out from my treatment, which did a great job "fixing the curve," but after two tries in the past week, have nor been able to have enough of an erection for penetration. There is still some tenderness, so that may be more of the cause than what I've assigned it. I'm on 20mg of sildenafil and have increased it to 60mg a couple of hours before trying intercourse, but it hasn't helped.

Anyway, I'm just trying find out if I'm rushing the process. I'm going to text Dr. Trost on Monday to get his opinion as well, but I value yours about as much as his since you've been there, done that.

Thank you!
