Hi guys,

I started with a 45 degree bend in June of this year and now its at 90. Saw a UCLA uro and suggested RestoreX. Havent seen any progress. Now he's pushing for Xiaflex. I cant afford it due to my deductible. So what are my options? Im considering the following and would like some input.

I ordered a Apex as Ive seen better clinical results online with traditional extenders worn hours per day.
one thing i should point out is Ive alternated between RestoreX and Manual traction three times a day for 30 min and I would get morning wood when doing manual traction the previous day. Does that mean manual is better for me? I am also gonna try heat therapy with hand warmers wrapped in gauze not to exceed 40c and i also ordered the infra red heating pad from total man.

The other thing I am considering is a DMSO mix.
I cant take cialis due to its side effects.
My doc doesnt do pentox injections.

What do you guys think?
I dont think i can have sex so im kinda screwed right now and just sucks.
Im pretty sure it was caused by high blood sugar. Monk Fruit was said to be safe but its not. It will spike your glucose levels.

Good info about the monk fruit, thanks.

I'm sorry you're dealing with a 90-degree bend. Just curious, how long have you been using Restorex? Doing the counter bend also? It's a slow process. I'm at the 9-10-month mark and it's worked pretty well. But it's anecdotal, of course, since I can't do a study with/and without Restorex. My length is back, and the curve seems less angled. I think it took about 4 months to see much difference.

Ive been using the RestoreX for about 3 months but the first 2 months i was doing it like once every other day. Ive been doing its 3 times a day for about 3-4 weeks now.

I'm pretty sure Dr Trost said the study was done with two-30 minute sessions a day. I've only done one morning session each day as part of a routine after a couple months. Two sessions was just too much for me. Started by doing Restorex to stretch, then VED to fill it up. But that was more time than I wanted to invest as well. Now my wife will frequently volunteer to do the filling part, which I always accept ;D

xfan: welcome aboard! That is such a great degree of curvature to deal with. Sex will for sure be very challenging like that.

You can try the conservative route and stick with restorex, to see if it gives you some sort of improvement.

Would you consider an implant in the futur?

At the moment the idea of a implant troubles me. I would rather first attempt at using heat, dmso mix and traction for a year to see if I can at least get 10-20 degrees of improvement. If i can get that then i know its a matter of time. If not then consider xiaflex and then surgery because if all that fails, then an implant would at least be a working last resort. Im just trying to get help with what i can do now. Ive asked around if 30 min on restorex or a few hours on a traditional extender is better and still haven't been able to get an answer. I feel like 6 hours on a Apex a day with a dmso mix with pentox and vinegar and heat could improve it at least a little, no?

100% would try all other methods first as you mentioned above. The tough part for you will be that your curve is already so severe. I never had that so no expert there, but that may limit your options. If my only issue was a curve I'd def explore Xiaflex, traction and heat.

Hey xfan,

I understand your point. In my opinion, given the data my experience and all that i have seen here on the board, restorex would be your best bet. Also way easier to do given the less time required to use the device.

You definitely should try the conservative non surgical approaches first. There's always the possibility of some improvements and that may be encouraging. But keep in mind that with your curvature and Erectile Dysfunction level, the implant may in fact be indicated for you. Any corrective surgery you might have carries risks and may further increase your Erectile Dysfunction and/or have a resurgence in curvature - post op, leaving you in a worse spot than you were.

Please have a look at the treatment algorithm shown on Dr. Landon Trost's website, regarding the latest guidelines for managing this condition: https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/treatments/

If you have 50+ years old, some form of Erectile Dysfunction, severe curvature and/or other comorbidities then an implant is recommended.
But it is obviously a very personal decision that one can't do lightly. Take your time, research the options out there and definitely make a plan of action for the near future. It will help you stay on track.

Best of luck on this and please stay with us!

Dr Trost has subsequently observed that one session a day gets you the bulk of the benefits. It is not very important to do two or more sessions a day, what's more important is to not miss days. Doing one session every day is better than doing two or more on some days and zero on others.
