Hi, I'm a 31 years old male, I live in canada and about 9 months ago I noticed a huge curve to the right on my penis, it took me ages to see a urologist, but finally I did and he gave me a physical exam and he told me that he can feel the plaque and that I already have Peyronies, and his first suggestion was Verapamil injections.
I was really scared about the injections and to be honest that blocked me totally.
Anyway, not even a few weeks later I had to go back to my home country and then I went to see an other uro and he gave me an ultrasound but yet without any injection and he told me you got no plaque and if its not bothering you with pain or erections then you'll do fine.
The ultrasound didn't convince me that especially that I did it without any injection and while I was flaccid.
All of this was almost a year ago, now the last couple of weeks I've experiencing pain for the first time and its mostly after urinating, also with a bit of stinging on the other side of my penis and a bit of pain in my testicles and my abdomen and the pelvic too.
This has made me really anxious and Im depressed than I ever was, life wasn't easy on me at all this year, new country, new job, the lost of my father and Peyronies..
Ive asked to see the family doctor one again so he can refer me to an other urologist and to check if this pain got to do with inflammation or prostatis maybe cause i don't know honestly if its peyronie's disease or maybe something else is happening along with it.
Im about to see the urologist that suggested the verapamil injections one more time and I wanted to know your opinions on the verapamil injections.
Also Im about to see abouta physist here in Alberta to check the shockwave treatment.
The last thing, I have sleep issues and I smoke a lot of weed to get rid of the insomnia because Im don't like sleeping pills but also I've read that smoking weed and especially Tobacco will make the peyronie even worst.
Should I quit weed and go back to sleeping pills instead? Besides I haven't eating well and my health is really in a mess as I didn't work out in a whole year or so.
So please any information, any advice, any text, anything that could help just tell me about it. Id really appreciate it, thanks in advance.

Hey Joezz-

I'm sorry you're going though this. Sometimes life throws a lot of things at us all at once and it can be tough, but there is light on the other side and you will get through this.

I think for anyone to give an informed opinion on your situation we would need more facts. However, I can say verapamil injections seem to be frowned upon here. Many have had problems with that despite positive research articles. I was hopeful when I heard of verapamil but quickly changed my mind after reading through forums and experiences. Regarding the weed, tbh I don't think that's going to make a world of difference one way or another. Smoking in general is bad for your health as I'm sure you know. But so is a bad diet. I would just try to be as healthy mentally and physically as you can during this time- you'll need it.

If the curve is your only problem, I'd start with the most conservative and trusted approaches- a traction device like restorex and a VED. Tadalafil/pentox would be a good idea too. Check out the survival guide on this forum for some basic info. But that would be a good place to start.

I have had verapamil injections and they didn't help at all with the curvature but helped with the pain. But everyone is different.

Very heartfelt and encouraging IwillbeatPD!

Please do fill out your signature line and study our survival guide as this will give you a better understanding of peyronies and it's different treatments.

I am sorry for the loss of your father and I know personally the feeling, time will heal. The emotional side of having peyronies is just as bad as the disease itself. You need to see a qualified Dr which can be difficult.  Then develop a strategy plan and adopt the mindset that this is a marathon and not a sprint.  Keep your mind on the thoughts of recovering from this and you have the support of caring individuals who KNOW just what you are going through!

I think that the Verapamil injections would be a waste of time as any shockwave therapy. Educate yourself on VED and traction and Cialis. Pentox has come under scrutiny for actually improving anything but you can try it to see if it helps in your case. I don't know if the sleeping pills are worse for insomnia or weed? I believe that vaping marijuana is a healthier option than combusting it in regards to your lungs. Also I have read articles on low dose edibles helping patients with insomnia. You could try some and see.  Remember that peyronies thrives in an environment of internal bodily inflammation. So any health changes to alleviate that would be a step in the right direction.   :)

Thanks you for your reply, I'm thinking about hitting the gym so I can be a bit healthy even though Im still smoking, cause anxiety and depression are killing me slowly lately and this is disease has made it worst.
Im about to ask for a referral to see an other urologist and I've already made an appointment to have a video call on zoom with Dr Trost cause I want his opinion as I read online that probably he's the doctor with the most knowledge when it comes to this.

Thank you Arthur, believe it or not but this few comments that I got are what keeping me moving on for now, as Iam really in a bad shape and never felt at this bottom, but Im trying to make a few changes in my lifestyle..
However, whats bothering me lately more than the curve itself is the pain that is everywhere, my lower abdomen, my testicles, sometimes a feeling of stinging, burning after urinating and it I've started to think it could be prostate or something else besides the Peyronie's.

Thank you for your words I really appreciate it cause honestly lately I've been going through a lot and feeling emotionally exhausted.. so thank you again.
Im trying to avoid Verapamil and I've arranged a zoom call with Dr Trost in a month and if he is as everyone is saying he is and I honestly read his articled and watched his videos and even his comments in this forum and i gotta say he made me feel like maybe there's a solution for improvement, so before verapamil or any other decision Im gonna seek his opinion first.
