ColoDad

Hello community members!

I'm ColoDad, a 35 year old father of 4 currently residing in the state of Colorado (US). I found this forum while doom-scrolling through Reddit after searching for symptoms of Peyronies Disease that I have been experiencing.

My experience started about a month ago when seemingly out of nowhere my libido dropped to zero. Now currently 2 of my kiddos are quite young, the youngest being just 9 months so there hasn't been much sexual activity for the wife and I for the better part of 2 years. This isn't me complaining, we're both tired and full time workers, my wife breastfeeds so she's usually touched out and is dealing with her own hormonal lack of libido and I recognize we are just in that phase of life where sex isn't a very realistic priority. On the personal side I've barely masturbated a small handful of times over the last year which makes this Peyronies Disease stuff all the more maddening.

Anyway, about a week after my libido disappeared I thought it was pretty unusual so I decided to try masturbating to get the juices flowing again so to speak. I ended up masturbating twice that day which is actually a lot for me and afterwards I noticed some tenderness in my penis. Not unlike what I'd normally feel after back to back sessions (also I would like to note, I do not masturbate rough, and it usually doesn't take more than a few minutes to finish). The next day I noticed my penis was still a little achy, again nothing too surprising but I digress. That same day my oldest boy (2.5 years) was playing with me on hardwood floor and twice when I wasn't being careful enough stomped down on my penis which was, very painful.

Later that day the achiness was obviously worse and I suspected some bruising or other damage may have occurred. With that in mind I just settled into my low libido for 3-4 days before I tried getting things going again. This time when I got an erection, I noticed a distinct bend to the left in my penis just below the glans. Additionally there is a dent on the left-underside of my penis, again, just below the glans. This was horrifying. I was familiar with Peyronies Disease and immediately began to panic.

The panic hit in a flurry of thoughts, how is this happening to me at 35? Why now, just months away from returning to more regular sex life with my wife after 2+ years of infant care and co-sleeping??? Unfortunately to add to everything when I began my research I started on Reddit which is understandably, FULL of a lot of hopelessness and comments making it quite clear that my penis is forever ruined and my life is over. I decided to try denial at first, to wait a week and try again, maybe my penis just didnt fully erect because I was tired? I made it maybe 3 days before getting anxious and trying again. Same result, my penis is ruined...

I spent the next week or two in quiet despair, too embarrassed to share with the wife, too much life going on to want to dedicate time to investigating further. This brings me too about 4 days ago when again I tried to masturbate and confirmed, this isn't going away and I'm not imagining it so I need to get serious about it.

Initial research said to stop drinking alcohol and caffeine immediately. Well I stopped drinking 4 years ago so that just left kicking the coffee all day habit, annoying? Yes. But also, done. I then began a more thorough examination of my penis. I've noticed I can feel some hardening on the left underside of my penis while soft the is not present anywhere else. I would estimate that when erect the curvature of my penis is approximately 25-35 degrees, it is quite noticeable but would not make sex impossible yet. As fair as pain, there is a dull ache that sometimes accompanies an erection at the head of my penis, it almost feels like an erection thats "too full" which seems counterintuitive but it's the best way I can describe it. Also a random observation of mine is that if I keep myself very well hydrated I swear it seems like the hardness in my penis is softer, but maybe I'm just imagining this.

Last night I bit the bullet and told my wife, she is very supportive and reminded me that I bring a lot more to the table as a husband and a man than just my penis. Next steps are obviously finding a good urologist and making an appointment which leads me to a few questions for the community.

Any recommendations for urologists in the Colorado/Denver area?

I estimate I'm in the first 2 months of Peyronies Disease symptoms, is this too late? I worry I've waited to long to become proactive about making improvements...

I know I need to start taking supplements. I've never taken dietary supplements or vitamins of any kind, is it better to order these online or do I need to find a vitamin cottage or something?

I've seen some information about tension devices and watched a youtube video with a demonstration using a dildo but guys I fall into the grower category in a MAJOR way. My penis is very small when not aroused and I'm confused how I can attach any kind of device to it... is this an issue with traction devices?

The bend in my penis is DIRECTLY below my glans, will any traction device actually be able to help correct a bend in this location?

One of the lifestyle changes I've seen recommended is getting good sleep. I have 4 kids and work full time. This isn't happening any time soon, anything else I can do to help?

That got a bit ramble-y but I'm glad I found this place and happy to meet you all!

I'm sorry to hear what happened to you but welcome to the forum!

My advice to you would be to first do your research to find the best possible doctor to consult and don't blame yourself for this. You can't change the past but your present is in your hands.

You can try supplements and medications for peyronie's and as far as I know, most traction devices can be used even if your penis is a grower, but focus on finding a good doc first.

All the best! May God bless you.
26 year old.

Had multiple penile fractures.

Welcome ColoDad to the forum and thank you for filling out your signature line. Please also download and study our survival guide -->Survival Guide . This will give you a comprehensive overview of peyronies and it's different treatments.

You are in a good place here and I would discourage you from Reddit as it will fill you with thoughts of gloom and doom. There are success stories here and hope and encouragement from the younger ones here and the older ones too. You have to keep a mental lid on all of this as anxiety will do more harm than good. I know you are under a great deal with raising 4 kids. I've been there and done that. My last of four is finishing her college at Purdue. Family responsibilities take a toll on ourselves and our marriage and sex lives.

Getting your wife on board is good as she may be able to offer you some hope and understanding and eventually this may open up new avenues of intimacy with her.

As far as Dr's where you are I am not sure. Search the forum and possibly you will find one. Dr Trost comes to mind in Utah and it would only be about an 8 hour drive. He is one of our Dr's here on the forum and I would highly recommend him!

Taking suplements can be of little benefit unless you are working to improve your bodily inflammation. Or if you are in poor health to begin with. Peyronies thrives in inflammation and anything to lessen it helps. Cialis assists in reducing body inflammation and also helps oxygenate and heal the penis.

Traction and VED are two things you could impliment. First educate yourself one their function as to how it would apply to yourself. Because you are a grower is of no consequence. Your penis will stretch accordingly with any traction. You may just have to keep re-stretching the area as things loosen. My injury was right below the glans and I have benefitted from traction and VED. You have not waited too long. You first need a proper diagnosis from a Dr to see just what is going on in your penis.

For your first Dr appointment I would recommend making a list of questions for your DR.
It is easy to forget things when you are in a quick appointment. Educate yourself first then make a list. You may also want to make some preliminary measurements of your penis to have as reference.

Don't worry about rambling as we all have been there upon learning that there is something wrong with our prize possession. This forum is 20,000 + members strong and we know just what you are dealing with mentally. You WILL make it through this and you do have a support network here!  :)

Hey Colodad!

Welcome aboard. Your story is unfortunately not unfamiliar to us. There are plenty of folks here that resonate with what you are experiencing.

You are taking steps to address this, which is very good. Early treatment of this condition increases the chances of a better outcome.

Not that far from you... If you can say that, you have Dr Landon Trost which is a top doctor in the Peyronies field. He is located in Utah. He does virtual consultations but maybe you would be interested in having an in person visit to his office.

He has a great informative website too, where he lists the most up to date evidence on peyronies treatment.
