I am very glad I found this forum, just watched the two recommended YouTube videos.

I'm age 65. One day in July right before sex I had what seemed like a big bend to the left. After getting over myself, I talked to my wife and we double checked and she got me to see my GP. I saw him in August, he listened, felt the plaques in my penis, said I had Peyronies and referred me to a urologist who I will see Nov 28th. I have health insurance, don't know what it will and won't cover.

I do a lot of qigong, breathing and healing meditations, so I'm very interested to see if any of this will help my condition, slow it down, or heal it. I have people I could ask for advice on this, and traditional Chinese medicine treatment and qigong, but I'm too embarrassed. There are apparently Chinese herbal and acupuncture treatments for peyronies, don't know if they work.

I just read the instructions on doing measurements. I guess I have to make sure I have a 100% erection. I'm unhappy about the loss of length.

It seems to me that I've twice been at or near a 90 degree bend left. Most mornings I spend 30 minutes "running energy" through my penis to dissolve and break up the blockages. The left bend(s) is gone. Now I'm working on reducing the ~30% upward curve and there is also sort of a divot and then in general I'm working to dissolving the plaques / hard tissue.  Those don't seem to be changing, but I haven't measured, and I'm just embarrassed to really look. I can feel some of the plaques, they feel like scar tissue. Sometimes I feel low level pain in my penis and in my perineum, I know I felt those aches months before I had any actual bending, but I ignored it.

It has not always been easy to be sane about this stuff, so I'm not 100% sure about what has happened to date, and don't know whether it is normal for curves to come and go during the active stage, or maybe I wasn't really fully erect? I don't know whether the energy work (qigong) is actually working, of course I hope it is.

Am taking CoQ10, going to add the carnitine and arginine and upgrade to ubiquinol. Will talk with my partner about anti-inflammatory diet – FODMAP?

Welcome SageGreen and thank you for filling out your signature line. Next line of business is for you to download our survival guide --> Survival Guide . This will give you a better understanding of peyronies and it's treatments.

Hopefully your upcoming Dr's appointment will be a good one. If you can get an erect ultrasound it would give a better all around diagnosis. It is good that you have taken some preliminary measurements of you penis. Things can change and you need a baseline. I also want you to know that you are not too far from Dr Trost who is in Utah. He is highly qualified in treating peyronies.

Before your appointment you should write down a list of questions for the Dr. I would talk about traction therapy and VED therapy to get his/her opinion. Also taking Cialis
and any other treatments they recommend. You as a patient have to be a little more educated when you go into your appointment. Read the survival guide and study the forum. Also do not be embarrassed about the look of your penis. The fact that you are now getting a diagnosis and doing something about it is healthy and good. It is a very important part of your body and needs attention.

Inflammation is the main culprit in peyronies and how it affects healing. You will never understand just how peyronies functions in your body as it is a healing disorder.
Noninflammatory diets can help your health in general and may help with your peyronies.
Meditating can help with the anxiety levels and worrying. Keep a close watch on that.
This is a marathon and not a sprint.  :)
