Hi everyone.

This is perphaps mostly for the moderators, but I was wondering if there's a possibility to change default notification settings to increase the engagement so that people wouls get notified by email if someone replies to their threas or post or gets PM.

It seems this forum suffers quite a lot from people who disappear and there's no way to contact them and ask about their progress, etc.

Could you elaborate more on your question please. Members do get an email notification if there is a PM sent to them. Are you wanting a notification for everyone who responds to one of your postings in general?

I mean that most people are not going to change the settings. The default settings are that members are not informed about replies to the threads they participate in, or if their post are quoted.

I wondered if there is a way to enable those notifications by default so there's more engagement.

In additon to that, PM messages are often full and you can't reach members.

Overall, I think it would probably be best to migrate to discord, but it's pretty dead currently, despite 500 members...

I think you need to do a little homework from searching our forum of over 20,000 members who have garnished this forum with their experience and knowledge. We also have on board 2 of the best peyronies Dr's who kindly devote their time in answering questions. One is Dr Trost and the other is Dr Eid. You will never find another forum like this one. How many urologists do you know who have the knowledge that we give out for free here?

I'm tooting our own horn but do you think any of us get paid a salary or stipend for doing this? We do this because all of us have had this disastrous disease afflict us and there needed to be some sort of community who would reach out to us and help us. The vast majority of Dr's don't even have a clue regarding peyronies. What would happen if this forum closed permanently? Remember the saying that you don't know what you've got till it's gone. It is a true statement.......  I'll get off of my soap box now. :)

Hmm, I think you misunderstood me. I'm not saying this forum is not useful, of course it is. I'm just saying that in this day and age, it's easier to communicate on different platforms as they allow faster exchange of ideas. It doesn't necessarily have to be either or, but the issue is that I see threads with good ideas that just die off real quikc and people take long time to reply. It's cumbersome to login and check all the different categories (there are too many, IMO). Also there are multiples threads talking about the same thinf and information is very scattered, whereas in something like discors you can have everything in one channel. It's by no means perfect and of course, one of the downsides for new people is that it's not searchable on google and you need to be on the server.

Simply put, I find it very easy to open an app and check what's going on, as opposed to going through multiple categories, etc.
