Hi I am new here. Been aware that I have Peyronies for around a year. It probably developed after a really nasty cycle crash, which also resulted in me ripping my quad muscle from my leg and a complete misdiagnosis of that injury. For around 6 months I was on so many pain killers I probably didn't notice the acute phase.
Age 55
What did your medical doctor conclude? I need surgery and probably circumcision . modified Nesbit?
How long have you had symptoms? Around one year , maybe 18 months
What are your symptoms? Curvature upwards of 70 to 80 degrees
What treatments have you tried and what were the results? Topic steroid cream, had no effect
Do you have insurance or means to get medical treatment? Yes , and no . Will get treatment on NHS, unfortunately medical insurance have recently removed Nesbit from approved treatment
where are you in dealing with the psychological aspects of Peyronies Disease? Honestly don't have a problem due to supportive partner
Are you in a relationship? Yes
18 months into this. Upward curve of around 70 to 80 degrees.  Have tried steroid cream to no effect. Injury caused by an accident and then resulting scar tissue. Noticeable ridge and shortening. . Had surgery Jan 2024

Welcome Frenchsirius to the forum. Sorry to hear about your motorcycle accident. I cannot imagine how much pain you have been in. Hopefully your accident did not leave you disabled other than the peyronies.

So have you looked into traction and VED therapy? I am also assuming that a circumcision was suggested because of the Nesbit procedure. A 80 degree curvature can make sex very challenging. Are you currently still in pain? Also are your erections good or bad?

Read our survival guide and educate yourself on peyronies and it's different procedures. The Nesbit can be successful to the degree of straightening your penis and/or reducing curvature. You will loose length though to varying degrees as the surgery entails making cutting wedges on the opposing side of your penis. Then these wedges are re sewn together to make a counter pulling force therefore straightening out any curve. It can be successful done in the right surgeons hands.

Hi thanks for the reply
It was actually a bike, cycle accident not a motorcycle, a freak accident when a stick went through the wheel and chopped of the front forks of the bike. I hit the ground with my leg caught in the pedals, and mashed up my penis on either the handle bar stem or maybe the top tube who knows!.
My doctors ( I have seen many but not by choice ! ) think a vacuum device could be dangerous due to the cause of the damage , they mentioned that a traction device if it had been used after around 6 months could have helped a little but that I was way past that point when I went to the doctor for the first time. Hint for others, seek treatment asap ,,, don't leave it as I did.
My erections are still good, I don't get any pain from the erections any more and also not when the scar/plaque is examined even under pressure. I can easily feel it, it is like a ridge.

Yes I have looked what the surgical options do. I realise I will loose some length but honestly that doesn't bother me, the circumcision was suggested due to the Nesbit. Thanks for your help and kind word.  Should get a date for the operation sometime this week , will let people know.

If your mind is settled on the issue of the type of surgery, that is fine.  If not, we would be happy to discuss options.

At your age, I would strongly recommend that you consider all the pros and cons of a 3-piece implant before finalizing your decision.

Surprised to hear your doctors say that traction would be of no benefit. But since you are having surgery, then at this point I wish you good luck. Hopefully your curvature will be fixed and there will be no changes to your erectile function.
