So I had taken finasteride for enlarged prostate and I'm pretty sure it caused my peyronies so I stopped. But of course my prostate as enlarged since I went off it.  My Dr. recommended dutasteride instead but curious if anyone has taken this with side effects, it appears to be pretty similar though so I'm a bit worried

From my understanding dutasteride will block more of your testosterone from converting to DHT. I am sorry to hear about your prostate numbers rising. May I ask where your psa levels are? Also have you read up on natural prostate remedies? Are you taking any zinc? Have you read studies on iodine therapy and the prostate?

My PSA number is low 1.1,  it's just my prostate itself is enlarged.  Dr. said they don't have anything to do with each other.  I'm just worried about dutasteride cause more peyronies

If your psa is 1.1 and you are 41 years old I would say get another urologist and you do not even need to be on any DHT blockers. I have had a normal psa around 1.3 for my entire life and my urologist says my prostate feels normal. He has said that when your psa goes over 4 then it is time to investigate.

Even if you have a family history of prostate cancer the Dr's of today have adopted a different methodology of treating it. Basically it is a watch and leave it alone protocol. My neighbor has a psa level of 10 and was told he has prostate cancer but it is not growing or showing any symptoms. The DR is closely watching and monitoring it and my neighbor has no symptoms. Years past Dr's would immediately go in and perform a procedure to remove it. Now they are having men with high psa levels that they are just keeping an eye on it. I think you should try some supplementing with zinc and not worry about get another urologist.
