Hello, my name is Rich, this is a long story about what can happen and my view on it.
It started like most here with a penis curvature that developed from Pyrones Disease. Mine was basically self inflicted in that I liked to use a stainless steel ring around my penis and balls, would cause a 10% or so increase in size but also would cause a lot of pressure on the top side of my penis right at the base where the postage stamp scar of Peyronies developed along with the pain.

A local urologist booked me into the local hospital for a Nesbit procedure , Around a month later I have received my call up for my operation.

The Surgery July 2019
After waking up in recovery, I was in considerable pain, pain was expected but this was different and I knew something was wrong. After being discharged after only 24 hours in hospital, I was back at hospital but this time emergency only 2 days later. Was discharged with pain killers but back again at Emergency only a few days later. I could not pull back my foreskin and was red raw underneath with infection and not able to pass urine.

This required a second operation less than a week after the first operation to correct the issue caused from a mistake done during the initial surgery. One of the surgeons had 'button stitched' my foreskin to my penis causing excruciating pain following the initial operation. (I should have been circumcised in the operation)

The operation also made no correction to my erection other than penis shortening and I have been left scarring and pain. Was also not able to had penetrating sex since the first operation due to painful erections and the bend that still made it impossible to have penetrative sex (The reason for the surgery in the first place)

Results a few weeks after surgery, July 2019, the scar from the incision looked like a tight rubber band was placed over my penis about 2 cm under my penis head causing pain and urination issues as it added a pressure point to the underside of the urethra.

After an emergency review by an external doctor was referred to another specialist in a major city.

After and having been reviewed by this city based urologist late 2019, The doctor put me on a public waiting list to have Penile Graft Surgery and to be Circumcised as my only choice, as I have considerable scarring, he told me my outcome might not be what I want due to further penis shortening and considerable risk of erection dysfunction, but would remove my pain.

Due to pain and urination issues and finding the public waiting list was 12 to 18 months for this operation due to the effect of Covid 19 and ongoing public health system crisis , in April 2020 I called up my urologist office and asked for a quote to pay for this operation as I could not wait any longer.

The operation (penile graft and circumcision) preformed August 2020
This 'scar ring' was removed and a penile graft was a moderate success in as the urinating issue has been corrected . The previous surgery team caused considerable scarring resulting with a less favourable outcome had I been referred directly to the city based urologist .
Having to go through the reversal of the Nesbit procedure and new grafting had me on the operating table for over 2 hours.
Since the last operation I have had erection and ejaculation issues, viagra works ok, even tried the self ejection of alprostadil but find it does not work as well for me.
I have really got into using vacuum pumps and using sleeves with them, they worked ok.
After much research, I purchased a custom built Mushroom Head vacuum cylinder made by 'Serious Kit' these are brilliant in they direct the vacuum to the penis head and still support the shaft.
Before purchasing I showed my city based urologists the website and device and said it might work, it does.
A 3 years on since my operation, it has made some of internal stitches feel softer, I do get the blood marks showing through the old stitches but this now has stopped.
My personal view in any penis surgery is to use the vacuum pumps ASAP as if left to nature the scar tissue from surgery will leave your penis eventually unable to have any erection.

Not sure what you mean by As Soon As Possible. My "well known" surgeon would always suggest waiting at least 6-8 weeks post-op. You need to at least initially heal up before applying any pressure or traction of any sort.
Developed peyronies 2007 - 70 degree dorsal curve
Traction/MEDs/Injections/Surgery 2008 16 years Peyronies free now

Completely agree about at least 8 weeks, sorry, the above story was taken from a complaint I wrote to the hospital and was highly modified to hide a lot of details.
During the first year, I was too 'soft' on my recovery and started to loose length.
Have gained most of this back but still I'm 50mm shorter that what I started with before developing Peyronies and the 3 following operations.
I would have gone straight to the city and found another urologist if I had any doubts about my local urologist but found out too late that the urologist in question has had a series of complaints against him and the hospital.
Also like to state, if your urologist recommends a Nesbit procedure and does not do grafting, I would find another urologist to does grafting so at least you have the best options.
A Nesbit procedure might be suitable for some patients but not all with  Peyronies

Rich... after reading your full post, i am in awe that the conclusion is "one should get into using vacuum pumps asap" and not "guys, research your options and doctors as much as possible to prevent bad outcomes".
It is unfortunate that you went through this. Very unfortunate. Sounds like you did not read about the gold standard of treatment for certain conditions and what can happen (most often than not) if it goes wrong.

Have a look at what Dr. Trost recommends, based on the latest evidence: https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/treatments/

If you are still having issues you have to think about a treatment plan so you don't further worse your situation.
