Guys who have flaccid pain, what does it feel like?

Mine is like an aching, stabbing pain in the left side.

It comes and goes randomly. The weird thing is that squeezing or pressing on the spot doesn't make it worse or better, like it would if it was a bruise or a sore muscle. And NSAIDs like Advil and Celebrex don't do anything. Ironically the only time it doesn't hurt is when I have an erection, which is the opposite of how it's supposed to work. But other users here (305Made, James884, etc.) have reported similar things.

James884 said his was caused by a "soft scar" that never developed into a hard plaque. Which is probably worse than a hard plaque, because there's zero treatments for that. This page from Center for Reconstructive Urology says "Many of our patients have a buckling injury that was never treated. The problem is that at that point, the fracture is completely healed. That healing was where the open defect filled in with scar tissue, and this then led to later problems. Once a penile fracture has healed, it is too late to do surgery to repair."  :(

What about you? Do you think guys with flaccid pain have the same underlying cause, or is it different stuff? Does anything work to relieve it?

Pain either flaccid or erect is an indication that something is not right. You need to realize that pain in the penis can also be a referred pain which is originating somewhere else. Me for example had severe pain with an erection that went away when flaccid. This was from the scar tissue towards my glans. I only found relief from heat therapy applied 3 times a day, advil and celebrex would not help me either.

The other type of pain I had later was actually referred from another area which was my pelvic region- specifically my tailbone. I felt this pain though in my glans area and thought it was from the scar tissue. Upon investigation I was diagnosed with CPPS and I had to have physical therapy to deal with this type of pain. I know now that when I have a flare up of pain that it is not peyronies but rather my groin muscles.

Any scar tissue can bring on pain when flaccid or erect as each individual is different. Finding the correct solution can be a challenge. Ultrasounds are not 100% and it is a hit or miss. Stress can also add to this whole picture too , it is the not knowing. I would look into CPPS and try some gentle stretching. First use a heating pad or rice sock to heat things up. Then the stretching and see if you find some relief. You may be surprised at your findings.

As far as surgery for a healed fracture it is never too late for that. I would think twice though before undergoing that. Try different approaches first - VED therapy and/or traction. :)

Yeah at this point I don't know if it's the pain causing stress, or the stress causing pain. Gonna get on some anti-anxiety meds soon to hopefully rule that out.

Hope not. Apparently there's a medicine in trials called Verteporfin that stops your body from creating scar tissue. It's been talked about on this forum and on Trost's website. Maybe at some point they'll be able to cut out scars/plaques and stop them from growing back. Or at least stop Peyronie's from progressing.

Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna try heat and more traction. (Not sure about VED because I have giant veins on my penis and I'm afraid it'd pop them like a balloon.)

Hello,

For me while flaccid it was the most annoying feeling of discomfort I've ever felt lasting a few seconds.  Also, feeling the area never brought it on either.  It was what I'd describe as pain when I had an erection, much more difficult to deal with. Doppler says I have six plaques but the first plaque ever discovered was mostly where these feelings were happening.

Right now discomfort comes once in a blue.  Fingers crossed.

So true. Whenever I describe the feeling as "discomfort" to a urologist, you can see them stop caring. They're like oh you're uncomfortable? That's not a big deal. Bye.

Were your plaques able to be felt by hand? Or just ultrasound?

I have one main plaque on the right side midway that usually has the discomfort.  After the doppler, my uro said there's six.  I can feel five of them, the main one included.  The others though have pretty much zero weird feelings or discomfort.  I don't get that but that's the way it is.   :-\

What do they feel like? I saw a post on here that said they feel like cornflakes or something.

I'm basically trying to do an exam on myself, since I can't an appointment with a specialist until August.

For me I'd say my plaques feel like a piece of a rubber band under the skin.
