Hello.  I'm 65 and noticed that my penis had become very curved about 4 or 5 months ago (curving to the left).  I've also lost  serious length and girth - it's probably about a 65 degree curve now, but with no pain (yet).

My GP referred me to a reputable urologist a month ago and I just saw him last week.  After a chat and cursory exam, he determined that I have Peyronies Disease. We both could feel the "cords" running along my shaft.  He said this was in an early stage and that there was nothing he could do until it stopped getting worse - and to see him in a year. He said he wouldn't be doing me "any favors" by doing something now. There's been no trauma that I can remember.  Not even a lot of sex.

I'm anxious about waiting and doing nothing.  But I, for sure, don't want to do something that makes it worse,  I've read about traction, specialty devices, Cialis, surgeries, and more.  It seems like some help, some don't and some makes the condition worse.  I have insurance. I'm looking for another urologist in the Atlanta area that might specialize in Peyronies Disease for a second opinion.  Not for a diagnosis, but for a course of action.

My mental health is fair, so far.  I'm in a relationship, but we don't have sex very often.  It's mostly masterbation for me.  I'm changing my diet and losing weight - I'm about 30 pounds overweight and am in the process trying to improve my diet. And I've started taking Vitamin E.  I'm ok mentally as I'm still in denial about the whole thing.  But I can feel the walls closing in as this gets more real.  While I don't have a lot of sex now, I don't want to give up the option (something else that I love).  Thanks.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I would definitely see another urologist.
Good care is provided by well trained physicians. Ok care is provided by ok physicians.
I think you are on the right track. See another urologist. If you can find a urologist that does a lot of implants, you might find he can provide you with lots of choices.
