Hi,

I'm in my early 30s and realized to have Peyronie's some time ago. I think everything began when I was teenager, I remember I slept on my belly one time and have unintentionally pushed erected penis turned left to the bed during sleep. I didn't have any further pain or problems so forgot about that. I also remember I always had slight left curvature (max 10-15o) and small lumps on the left ventral side just below the glans. I have also two circural ring structures like veins on the right side of shaft and can feel uneven surface underneath (like scars cutting into the tissue?). I'm not sure if my teenage masturbation contributed to that or not.

When I was around 27yo I went to urologist to check what these mentioned lumps on my penis are, following my girlfriend's advice. Doctor did US and told me I have micro-calcifications in tunica (didn't tell me where exactly), no changes in corpora carverosa. I found another urlogist, who sent me to MRI, which also suggested something unusual in tunica and no changes in corpora carverosa. To sum up I was told there is nothing that can be done apart from surgery, but this is reserved only for severe cases.

After being diagnosed I started to watch my body more carefully and I also realized that feel slight sensation on the right side when flaccid especially after orgasm. I'm also not sure if there is slight hourglass in the mid-shaft in the area when I can feel uneven surface mentioned (hard to judge because of veins).

Apparently I'm in the chronic phase and I'd like to try any non-surgical treatment option, which can potentially improve my condition by reducing calcification/plaque and sensation if possible. I'm thinking about traction, antioxidant set, pentox (oral/injections), iontphoresis, ESWT. I have also visit with urologist abroad next week, who is familiar with multi-modal theraphy, pentox etc.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

PS. Sorry for language mistakes, English is not my native language.

martin111,

Good that you are seeing urologists and studying to understand the details of your condition.  Vitamin E is a harmless supplement you can start taking right away.  Don't overdo it, 200IU-400 IU per day is plenty and taking more won't make it work better.  Some have taken L-Arginine as well; see the Peyronie's Survival Guide in this forum written up by Hawk, one of our most senior members.

Good luck!

I am on 1000IU - no adverse affects. I believe this to be the most bio-available version too. Any reason why more isn't better if stronger concentrations are available?

Thanks for your responses! Yes, I did search the forum and have read the survival guide, which is indeed good summary of treatment options.

I visited mentioned doctor abroad in Italy. I got ultrasound with elastography, which showed no calcifications (last US did show them according to previous doctor), but the dorsal-right plaque around 10x10x2mm. I'm a bit surprised, because location does not seem to match palpable nodules and uneven surface I wrote about in first post (maybe they are not Peyronie I don't know, but they are not veins). I got antioxidant capsules (L-acetyl carnitine, Propolis, Milk thistle, Ginkgo biloba, Boswellia, Blueberry, Q10, Vitamin E, Vitamin C), and ointment (Hyaluronic Acid, Cardiospermum halicacabum, Propolis, Zinc, Titanium Dioxide, Hypericum extract) for half a year. I was told pentox injections, iontophoresis etc. is not needed in my case. I'm puzzled because calcifications were not confirmed, so I think will arrange another ultrasound to clarify that. In general I'm going to follow this therapy + healthy diet, sport, limit stress and we'll see.
