Still have erectile dysfunction with implant…

Hi guys,

I've made a few posts before about my situation but I will just sum it up here. I had a penile implant but because my injury is to the corpus spongiosum I still have erectile dysfunction (soft glans, spongiosum doesn't inflate) essentially.

I am wondering if this would improve if I was able to somehow soften the scar tissue using DMSO or something else. Please can anybody make a suggestion as I am really at the end of the line now.

My reasoning is that for maybe 6 months to a year after I had the initial injury, I was still able to have erections I just had pain. I feel like if I could get the scar tissue soft like it was before, maybe these issues would be less.

Thanks for any replies.

If you can not easily have intercourse, then you do NOT have a properly installed implant PERIOD!

Have you ever read one reliable account of anyone reversing significant Erectile Dysfunction with DMSO on this forum?

Have you ever read one account of anyone with an implant using DMSO on this forum? I haven't.

Implant surgery NEVER changes how your corpus spongiosum responds because It is not intended to have any effect on your corpus spongiosum.  This is just a common, well-known fact to anyone that has done any reading on the forum.  If you had significant Erectile Dysfunction before your surgery and think that DMSO is going to change that, you are grasping at a fantasy.  If DMSO could resolve significant Erectile Dysfunction then you would have done that first and never needed surgery.

I have had this issue for 6 years or more so believe me when I say I have done a fair bit of reading on this forum. I am not thinking that DMSO could cure erectile dysfunction, I was wondering if softening the scar tissue would allow my penis to expand better and somehow improve the soft glans and cs issue that I have.

My implant is fitted correctly, there is no issue with the implant for me, it's everything else. Sex cannot be enjoyable for me because if the glans and spongiosum do not engorge then you basically are having sex with two plastic tubes with skin around them. There is no sensation and I cannot ejaculate during sex.

Maybe it is wishful thinking, I don't know. I have to try something though. I have seen a few people saying that they softened scar tissue using DMSO. Is it worth trying?

Does it not make sense that if you were able to make the scar tissue softer then the penis might expand more and potentially solve the soft glans and poor cs filling or at least improve it?

Have you tried still using viagra for glans engorgement, the trimix gel? Or some people I have heard use the VED and a cock ring to engorge the glans (I am not entirely sure how or the risks involved).

Viagra and Cialis literally do nothing at all for me anymore, they did used to work even after I had the injury. That was until the scar tissue hardened. Now, nothing I do works it's like the hard scar tissue prevents blood flow from reaching the glans and even the spongiosum stays flat.

I tried trimix gel and it doesn't really do much either.

Is it stupid to think that if I could somehow soften the scar that some function might come back? At least glans engorging better?

I have no idea, I think some ultrasounds and a urologist could probably answer that question a lot better.

The ultrasound didn't show anything, which I thought was weird because now I have a hard scar that goes around my dick. I feel like if I could somehow soften it then I could regain some function.

I basically had an implant and the part of my dick which was injured wasn't replaced by the implant cylinders, so the part which wasn't injured was replaced by the implant and I'm still dealing with the same problems because the spongiosum is the injured part.

Nothing I do works.

What did your urologist say about this?

My Erectile Dysfunction has improved over time with traction/VED as well as pentox, cialis daily, and ALCAR.

Not sure if they will work for you.. I think only a surgeon who understands the anatomy of the penis would be able to diagnose and help.

@sonnyjim: as usual.... you show that you don't understand your condition, neither the device you had implanted. I feel for you, as you can't get past repeating the same things over and over and over. But yet, you somehow expect a different result. Maybe one day you will wake up from that mindset.

Sonnyjim,

According to Dr. Trost, scar tissue cannot develop in the corpus spongiosum. Very likely what you are dealing with, perhaps in addition to peyronie's (I haven't read your history), is a version of hard flaccid/CPPS (chronic pelvic pain syndrome). Lack of glans/corpus spongiosum inflation is a commonly reported symptom in that community. Check out the hard flaccid forums on reddit (I believe the subreddit is called hard_flaccid). The community also has a discord group. You might be able to find some helpful resources on remedying this problem.

Best of luck.

And then you say you don't understand, when I say you don't understand your condition nor the implant. Whether you do or you don't, it doesn't matter. The implant is inside the penis and your peyronies and Erectile Dysfunction are gone.

I don't think I will ever have satisfying sex again in my lifetime which makes me sad as I'm still in my 30s and I was 27 when this all started.

Yes, I have an implant but because the cs is damaged and has hard scar tissue, the head and cs do not fill with blood and I literally feel nothing. I never really feel my dick throughout the day either, it might as well not be there at all.

I just assumed that if I could soften the scar tissue it would somehow let more blood through or something. Everyone automatically thinks having an implant means you don't have a problem anymore but that isn't the case, I am still in the same place as I was 5 years ago.

If anyone has any suggestions other than just patronising me please post them.

I'm not sure mate, I don't feel like I am any better off though.

A 60 year old guy who had his done on the same day as me called me a few weeks ago and he is over the moon with his. I guess his scar tissue was on the part of the penis that the cylinders replace and not the cs like me.

I basically have a penis that has no sensation and a small glans. Also because the cs does not engorge either, my girth is much less than it was. Basically just two plastic tubes with skin over the top.

I can however feel the scar tissue all day long, like a squeezing sensation, but other than that no pleasurable feeling with using it or masturbating etc.

I feel like if I could lessen the scarring or soften it somehow it would allow my penis to expand more and maybe that would give me some quality of life at least.

I have been trying to use DMSO with vitamin c and magnesium oil but so far nothing has changed in a month and a half.

Real question guys because I have been thinking this for a while (5 years)

Is it worth living a life without sex? I feel like my sex life ended at 27 and I've been trying to get it back ever since. I'm not talking about curvature or anything else, I'm talking about the fact that I cannot have any sort of sex live because whatever injury I had means that I cannot feel anything pleasurable and I can't think of a way to ever have a satisfying relationship like this.

I've held on to hope that something would improve in 5 years but nothing has improved at all. No sex for 5 years has been bad enough but for the rest of my life?

It's like a nightmare. I think I have finally ran out of things to try and I'm just trying to accept it and build up the courage to put myself out of my misery. It's hard to explain.

Unless anyone else has some bright idea or miracle cure that I can try.

I wonder why some people here have had success reducing the scarring and mine hasn't improved at all in 6 years. I've spent thousands of pounds on supplements, creams, pills and whatever else and I'm still in the same boat.

Are peyronies plaques different to scar tissue caused by injuries? Is scar tissue from an injury less likely to heal or improve compared to typical peyronies plaques? Or are they the same?

I can't tell you with full certainty however I can tell you in my experience Peyronies scarring is the weirdest bs I've ever experienced. I have had multiple injuries in my life in different body parts and none of them acted the same way as Peyronies did. It's the only injury I have had in my life that evolved and took on different phases as time went by.

Certainly hard to stay positive at times. Take me for an example, in the summer it will be 3 years for me with the disease and the dent/hourglassing seems to just get worse even though I am doing everything I can to let it rest. I keep asking myself how the f... can it keep progressing 2.5 years after the injury it's like my penis just decided to eat itself up. I would not be surprised if myself down the road became an implant patient too.

Reading your signature and your posts your issues sound almost indentical to mine.

Have urologist ever been able to feel a plaque when examining you? On me they never can feel anything, the tissue feels normal and soft all over. No hard bands, nodules or anything like this. I have read about patients like this. Where doctors cannot palpate any scar or plaque.

This makes me wonder if men like us do not have classic Peyronies where scarring form on the tunica but instead we have diffuse scarring all over our corporal bodies. I have never done an ultrasound but I suspect what I have is corporal fibrosis.

Sonic, how did you get your fibrosis?. I got corporal fibrosis due to a medical negligence with a Trimix injection, one day that destroyed my live forever. I could do an MRI here in Spain for cheap price and know what I exactly have but I canceled because what is the point to know what I have if nobody can't do anything about it.

I suspect it was an combination of overuse of 10mg cialis and rough sex. It was in that period where I took 10mg cialis everyday everything started for me. One 10mg pill lasts in system over 36 hours. I overused them and remember many times I was way too hard. It really felt like a super unatural erection hard as stone.

Then one day my entire penis was very sore. Lasted maybe 3 days and then felt okay again. Few weeks later I notice a maybe 15° curve to right which soon turned into a 20° curve and then seemed to stabilize.

Maybe a year into the disease I noticed hourglassing and a dent located near base on right side. These symptoms have gotten worse with time. The curve has remained the same the entire time but hourglassing and dent is getting worse. I have contemplated buying a penimaster device but am hesitant out of fear of making matters worse.

I was thinking long time about VED but a friend told me if I start traction in time it will make me straight and a side effect benefit is maybe 1 or 2 inches in lenght.

What prevented me from getting a VED are all the posts I read on how easy it seems to overpump.

YES! Reduced the hardness of the scar. My curve is less. I'm responding to the other forms of treatment where I was at a wall. I've injected 500mcg into the skin near my injury but not into the corpora everyday for 2 weeks. You can inject subq into the fat above the groin if into penis skin is too freaky

sonnyjim

I doubt I would inject it into my penis as I have a penile implant anyway.

The injured tissue goes across the bottom side of my penis and affects sensation. Glans and corpus spongiosum do not fill.

Your implant is working as normal but you have aquired complete loss of sensation in the entire penis?

I really don't think a single person on here can give any advice, I've never heard anything like it. Have you talked to the doc who made the implant about all of this? I symphatise with your situation but this is a case for a medical expert to make a full exam and see where the loss of sensation stems from.

No, I had no sensation even before I had the implant. I don't have typical peyronies, mine was caused through an injury I had to the underside of my penis, it is now a hard scar across the bottom of my dick. It's like it prevents blood from getting to the glans. If I inflate the implant it literally is like two tubes with skin over the top. The corpus spongiosum also does not fill unless I masturbate for a long time and obviously, this is a problem if I ever wanted to have sex. I can't feel anything during sex, nothing at all. It must be that the scar tissue is pressing on nerves but all of the "specialists" I've seen could not tell me what the cause is.

As far as I know, lack of glans engorgment and loss of sensitivity are some rare complication of penile implant. It seems you had a bad luck since you got both the complications. You are wasting your time in finding the scar tissue.

Of course if some guy gets implanted by Dr. Eid who has countless years of experience vs a surgeon who does 10 implants a year I do not need to mention what patient will have the better outcome.

I would say if you do the surgery by a highly expetienced doctor it is relatively safe.
