Hello, I'm a 29 year old man in the US, and have not been able to see my doctor yet. I am in flux between primary physicians, but I will focus on making an appointment with a physician ASAP. I have insurance now, but a job change means a doctor change. However, my experiences and symptoms seem to match entirely with this condition.

I have a swelling, in a band-shape on the right side of my erection, and an increasing bend to the left. Recently, it has been a more acute bend noticeable during urination, and the right-side localized swelling when erect is also more pronounced. For months, I've engaged in frequent extended masturbation, sometimes while semi-erect. I've known it was an unhealthy practice, but I just couldn't abstain until now, upon reaching a mental health breakthrough.

Yesterday in the shower, I was erect and finally realized it isn't a vein, but tissue damage. After that erection subsided, I have felt some dull pain/discomfort in the area of the supposed plaque.

I think I injured my penis two years ago while having sex in a "stubbed penis" situation. After that painful incident, I may have developed an initial slight swelling, without pain and really no more noticeable than a vein. But in the last 2 months it has grown and caused deformation, and now some pain/discomfort. I can acknowledge that in this time I was likely causing trauma & re-injury. I do still achieve erection healthily as of yesterday, but am concerned about pain and worsening the damage.

What should I do, besides begin with a general physician visit and abstain?

sex injury, aggravated by masturbation
undiagnosed but symptomatic,

Furthermore, I'm reading the Survival Guide and I understand I definitely need medical assessment.  I am grateful for this forum's reassuring base of knowledge, thanks y'all.

I guess I'm wondering, in the interim, besides allowing the tissue to rest and heal, should I take otc L-arginine or vitamin E or something as well?

Hello IgnatiusJReilly (great name by the way),
I'm not a urologist or even a doctor, but I can say that you definitely need to get to a urologist ASAP.  What you describe doesn't sound exactly like Peyronie's, but more like a traumatic injury which as you say, you may have given yourself.  Since you've asked what you can do in the interim while waiting for your urologist visit, I would advise abstinence from any rough activity.  As for supplements or vitamins, Vitamin E seems to have helped some Peyronie's sufferers and in reasonable doses like one 200 IU or 400 IU capsule per day it's harmless.  I would stick with that until you have a diagnosis.
Age 64, Peyronie's history 4 years, left side hourglass, 20-degree bend to left, no ED

Welcome IgnatiusJReilly to the forum .  I agree that you need to be correctly diagnosed. Finding a peyronies Dr can be a challenge, but you should continue to read the survival guide and educate yourself before your initial consult wtih your Dr. Don't wait too long though. Extended masturbation sessions can cause some slight trauma as I have also experienced that in the past.

I think the supplements can be a help to you and also heat therapy. Read the forum and you may come across another member who has had similar problems and what they did.  Mikel7  :)
