Hello all,

New to this forum here's my story...

Background:
I'm 32 years old and first noticed some change in direction of my erect penis while masterbating in the late fall 2020. After looking it up and self diagnosing myself, I specifically recall a time in August 2020 when my gf at the time was riding me and it slipped out, and she came crashing down on it. No pop or immediate pain, just changed position and kept having sex. We were in a long distance relationship at the time and only saw each other once a month, so very easy to recall. No problem having sex to date, but I recall a time when I experienced pain while ejaculating. Thought it could be an STI, got tested and all was good or so I thought.

Noticed more significant bending and hourglass in January 2021. Did not have the courage to seek medical advice until February 2021, since then I've seen my doctor, 3 urologist waiting 1-2 months between appointments, with no advice on any sort of treatment options for the interim.

Only found this forum maybe a month ago.

Injury Description:
Sounds like a have a generally milder case (per urologist diagnoses and reading some members bio):
- Current measured bend 30-35° to the left
- Hour-glassing on the left side, 1/3rd from the base when erect
- Lost maybe 1/2" of length, don't think any girth
- When flaccid penis also curves to the left.
- No erectile dysfunction issues, can achieve a full hard erection
- No pain since a period of time in fall 2020 when experienced pain during ejaculation.

Diagnosis:
First urologist said he doesn't work or treat pyronies. Second, advised minimal plaque and if all is functioning "do nothing", recommended traction over injection with vermaphil (no xiaflex in Canada). But then referred me to a urologist that was closer to my location for ease of repeated treatment.
Third urologist again stated very minimal plaque, suggested if all works fine" do nothing", recommend traction over injection and decided to go with traction after reading these forums.
Third urologist prescribed only tadafil/cialis, after reading this forum got him to also prescribe me pentox.

Treatment:
Started treatment in August 2021 with:
- 2-3x per day traction with RestoreX
- 2.5mg daily tadafil
- 2x400mg pentox
- natural supplements l-arginine and l-citrulline, pycnogenol, coenzyme Q10
- some manual stretching while traveling/not at home to use traction device

Fully committed to treatment regime and optimistic for results, obviously some effect on my self-esteem and man hood, especially since I'm not in a relationship and hope to find a supportive and understanding partner.

It sounds like you have a manageable curve, and anything under 40 degrees will not be covered by all insurances.  I think you are doing the right things so far.  Traction over time can really help minimize any losses.  But that is a marathon and not a sprint.

Seek out a urologist who specializes in Peyronie's.  For me that made a world of difference.  The forums are a great place to bounce ideas off each other... but I would definitely say doctors know best.

Good luck... you sound like you are off to the right course of action.

Can definitely feel a plaque on the left side of the shaft. Based on physical examination by the second two urologist, both their comments were that the plaque is minimal in their experience. They did not recommend ultrasound, unless I was going to go for the vermaphil injection.

I think I am going to try and seek out a pyronies expert in my area. But from the sounds of it, the 2nd urologist seemed to be the recommended expert.

UPDATE:

It has been a month since starting daily RestoreX traction and all the prescriptions/supplements.

I understand it's a marathon not a sprint, but thought I was seeing some improvements especially right after traction.

However, now I have noticed that the plaque is substantially more palpable on the left side of the shaft, a small nodule that was not present before.

Can't say that the curvature is any worse when fully erect, but definitely when flaccid or semi-erect.

Is this normal or has anyone experienced this? Am I doing anything wrong? I follow RestoreX instructions and make sure it is gentle traction, obviously getting to the 3rd and 4th position can be difficult at first and I usually only get to the 3rd position.

Any insight would help. Thanks.

In my experience, a plaque/nodule can get larger and then get smaller. Back in 2013, I had a Peyronies Disease flare that presented with two nodules that seemed to be on the septum. They grew larger over the course of a year, and somewhat firmer, before ultimately fading so much as to no longer be palpable.

So, if you're not seeing a worse bend while fully erect, then I would try not to obsess about the relative size of the plaque. Remember that we're dealing with a "healing" wound (albeit one that's not healing correctly) and they can go through phases. As one doctor said, only inspect your penis when it's erect, because the stuff going on when it's flaccid can be really misleading.

It really sounds like you got on top of this with the very best course of treatment - kudos for that. I'd say keep up your regimen, you're doing a good job.

Welcome Ddash to the forum.  It sounds like you have a plan of action and just keep on following it. I would say to investigate heat therapy as it has helped me a lot. Keep on with the traction and search the forum as there are success stories with some members with traction, treatments etc...  Finding a peyronies specialist is difficult and it looks like you are in Canada.  You may not be too far from Dr Levine in Chicago Ill. He is a peyronies specialist and is very good at diagnosing. Best of luck!  The forum will give you info and hope.
