Hello, all.

New to this forum. Actually took a little time to accept the fact I have Peyronies.

Long story short: a couple of months ago, seemingly overnight, I developed an indent on the right side of my shaft that's only visible when erect.

Since then, I've spoken to my GP, seen a private andrologist and had an ultrasound scan done. The conclusion is that I have Peyronies-related fibrosis, but no scar tissue or plaque (yet).

I have no curvature - just an indent and a "hinge effect" when erect.

The andrologist suggested I use a VED. I'm currently at the start of Week 2 of the VED Protocol detailed on this forum.

It'd be great to hear from others who've gone through what I've gone through, and can perhaps offer insight or guidance - especially relating to keeping the faith, and not losing the mental battle.

29 years old.

Multiple nodules, and hourglassing on bottom half of shaft.

Diagnosed with Peyronies in March 2021.

Currently using SOMACorrect (3-cyclinder) VED and following the VED Protocol.

That statement is rather confusing.  I wonder if you could have misunderstood since the terms "scarring" "Plaque" & "Fibrosis" are pretty much synonymous.

Here's the comment my andrologist made:

"On examination of the penis there was no distinct Peyronie's plague to feel, but on review of some photographs he
certainly has a distinct indentation at the base which is noticeable. This is almost certainly an area of fibrosis within
the tunica albuginea which is failing to expand (fight Peyronie's disease)."

I went for an ultrasound after that, and it simply confirmed there was no plaque / scar tissue.

In truth, I have been left confused.

You are confused and understandably so... Welcome aboard! Staying proactive and take care of things right away is the best way to optimize your outcome. VED won't hurt you if done right, even if there is some confusion with your diagnosis. It's also a good sign the results from the ultrasound. So...  Keep an eye on it and focus on the VED and take one step at a time.

We are here for you if you need to talk.

AMR,

regardless of how they expressed it, "scarring," "Plaque," & "Fibrosis" are the same thing.

A doctor could express the same thought by saying.:
"I cannot feel any plaque, but the deformity tells me there has to be some plaque there. Then the ultrasound report could say, "We saw no plaque"

At the same time, they could say
"I cannot feel any plaque, but your deformity tells me there has to be some scarring." Then the ultrasound report could say, "We saw no fibrosis."

There is NO difference in those statements.

Just because the doctor did not feel plaque and the ultrasound did not show it does not mean it is not there.  Ultrasounds routinely miss 30% of plaques in the penis.  That is especially true if it was not done while erect.  There is only one thing short of a tumor that causes measurable penile deformity to develop.  That is scar tissue.  There are only two types of scar tissue that can develop in the penis.

1. A normal healing scar because your penis was injured because of a fracture or a deep cut
2. Scar tissue that overran normal healthy tissue because of Peyronies Disease

If you did not have a serious obvious injury, you have Peyronies Disease Plaque, fibrosis, scar tissue.  It would be nice if they felt it and if they saw it on the image, but it would only confirm what we already know,

Hi there!
The first time I had and ultrasound they didn't find any lumps and dismissed me as if I had nothing. Thankfully, I demanded a second test at another place and the examiner found out 5 small lumps. Just a week later!!
I wish you the best of luck and sincerely hope nothing else appears to you, but I strongly recommend you to take a careful look at the recommended drugs on the survival guide and talk to your urologist about them.
I also recommend you to read about some of the alternative treatment options (there is a whole tab about them) that are less invasive and somewhat harmless. I wish I had those informations early on such as yourself. I really don't want to scare you, but stay aware and informed at this moment.
God bless and heal fast.

God bless
