I don't think I've heard a single bad story about someone getting an implant!
Am I wrong?
Seems like the gold standard is already here, if there aren't any cons with getting one?
Can a gentle soul fill me in?
Thanks

I wouldn't put you in the "gentle soul" - category, based on your many half-witted posts on this forum lol
But this answer was useful, so thanks for your input, Jan.

Jan, always says that Implants are only needed for Erectile Dysfunction and no other reason. I have an implant as a direct consequence of an unusable, disfigured, 90 degree bent penis. It was rock hard when erect but could do nothing with it such was the bend. I have NEVER EVER EVER had erectile dysfunction so what you are saying on this board is NOT true. My implant has completely straightened out a dreadful 90 degree curve. I have now had sex successfully for 18 months as a result. Please stop telling people it is only for men with Erectile Dysfunction.

I also did not have true Erectile dysfunction, but after my excision and grafting surgery the erection I did have could not successfully penetrate without aids.  Now that I have an implant, I do not need to plan sex around pills or Injections , and no longer need to use a constriction  ring to penetrate.  If I go on vacation, I don't need to worry about taking a "kit" with me, especially with medication that needs refrigeration.  Also, compounding pharmacy drugs are NOT cheap

I remember I posted a year ago on a separate post about the Pros vs Cons of an implant. I found the post and have pasted it here:

IMPLANT PROS AND CONS

There's been much talk on here recently about "should I or shouldn't I get an implant?" from a number of members. I'd like to sum up briefly what I have experienced to be the pros and cons as I see them. These are only my observations.

PROS

* My congenital downward bend has completely gone and my erection is now straight out at 3pm.

* Peyronies caused the bend to become more than or at least equal to 90 degrees with an S bend to the left as well as down. These bends are now gone.

* The implant appears to have halted peyronies plaque formation and regular cycling keeps it at bay.

* my penis is completely operational for sex. I get a rock hard erection that does not fail to deliver.

* I never need to worry about getting an erection or indeed keeping that erection.

* I can relax and enjoy sex as a result.

* I don't need to worry about when I ejaculate during sex. Much as it seems weird to continue after climaxing, my wife doesn't know and I simply continue, with the same quality of erection until she is done.

* Related to this, I can relax with my wife and have some beers or wine etc without having to worry about the effects of alcohol on my erection.

* I can now have sexual intercourse in most positions. Prior to the implant I could really only manage a couple of positions.

* For the first time in years I am proud of my erection.

* I don't need to always bend my penis in the opposite direction for penetration.

* My physical relationship with my wife is now 100% better than pre implant.

* My mental health has undoubtedly improved as a result.

* Not that this matters to me but my flaccid dick is 6.25 inches with a considerably larger girth than before surgery.

CONS

* To have the implant requires major surgery. There are major risks like infection and failure of the implant to consider.

* I can never achieve a natural erection ever again.

* I don't wake up with morning erections or during the night.

* In order to have sex I have to pump up my penis via a little pump located behind my testicles. Much as this is no issue in my stable marriage, I'd imagine I'd need to excuse myself to the bathroom to pump up in an experience with a new partner.

* Likewise, when we're done I have to deflate.

* The post-surgical pain was extreme for me for 3 weeks. This has not been the case for others. I suspect my extreme bend was the source of the pain.

* My flaccid penis is large. This has taken some getting used to. My choice of trousers/pants/wardrobe has had to be re-evaluated so as not to be arrested for indecency.

* When visiting toilets and peeing standing up, I'm not able to unzip and simply pull him out. The implant makes the pliability of my penis less easy to pull him out through my underwear and requires a bit more thought.

* The daily cycling routine can be at times tedious.

* I will need a replacement(s) at some time in the future and will have to go through the whole process again.

What a lot of guys also have to realize is I made my decision based on a race against time as well.  I was not willing to wait and possibly deteriorate more.  I wanted it stopped and stopped as quickly as possible.

I have a 90 degree bend, and while I wouldn't classify it as "rock" hard, it definitely is hard enough to do something with if it would be anatomically possible.  So, it definitely all depends on the underlying cause of the curvature.

Underwent Plication with Dr. Brian Christine in Birmingham, AL on 6/17/2021. Fully recovered with no complications.

Roddy

Hi guys. My underlying cause of the curvature was Congenital Curvature - basically born with a severe downward bend. The strength of my erection was never a problem for me but I reckon that without actually knowing it, or knowing when exactly, I caused some bad damage to my dick whilst having sex. I can understand why tho given that to penetrate I had to bend my dick in the opposite direction to be of any use. I think one day it just had enough of being bent and more or less snapped - for want of a better expression. Then came the onset of Peyronies and the bend became even worse - still a hard erection tho. The plaque became worse over time and the decision was made to complete excision and grafting. Ultimately that failed, the graft didn't take hold, and I was back to square one. Then I had the implant surgery and I've never looked back.

I have seen some horror stories on FT about bad implants, but almost all were caused by incompetent doctors.

In my case with no Peyronies, I had a simple choice:
Live the rest of my life without any chance of an erection, and a wife who doesn't think oral is an option.
The other choice was going through a week of discomfort. Some have experienced quite a bit of pain.

With the implant at our advanced age, my wife and I enjoy intimacy more often than we ever have.
She doesn't have much staying power; usually about 10 minutes, but at least she responds to me almost every time I try for it.
I think she would like an every other day schedule, but is all right 5 times a week.

Who knows how long it will will last, but it's pretty nice as it is.

I had plenty of natural erectile rigidity to penetrate, not the same as at 19 years old, but nowhere near unusable. I also had a full 90 degree up bend in my penis making it unusable for anything, even getting head or manual stimulation was not as pleasurable and intercourse was impossible.

I chose to get an implant to fix this, and fix it it did. I am about 4 weeks out and becoming used to having it, and realizing it is not going to be that big of a deal. Granted, I am not particularly easily embarrassed or shy. I don't advertise it among my friends, my choice. However, I will not be shy at all to pump it up and use it, I don't think it will be particularly difficult to do so while otherwise occupied and if noticed/asked I'll simply quickly address it. Its not like its a dildo, just an internal aid to a broken dick. On top of which, I am still getting quarter chubs when sexually excited which is an odd feeling to say the least.

I have a penis that I can have vaginal sex with. I look perfectly normal when flaccid, right back to as large or larger than I was when I had not even heard of Peyronie's. I am sore, sometimes uncomfortable, but getting better every week.

Yes, there IS a reason and rationale to go direct to an implant when Peyronie's is debilitating and not likely to be satisfactorily fixed without.  My choice and so far I am very satisfied with making it.

Thank you thrownacurve, and Roddy. others also... i'll just leave Jan's posts here so everybody see's how he doesn't understand a single thing of what he is saying and has been consistently doing nothing other than embarrassing himself.

Please Jan... do us all a favor and take a break from the board. Like a permanent one. One of those where you don't come back from it? Please.

Godisreal

So basically, the pros heavily outrank the cons. There's no doubt.
What's the cost of the greasiest implant? Approximately?
I won't be taking that decision for long since my case is "not that bad"  & I'm still young, I guess you could put it, but there's a chance that I will take that decision in the future.
Also for anyone with knowledge:
How is the general feeling in the penis with an implant? Are the nerve-endings as sensitive as before the implant? Or do you somewhat lose sensation?
Another question is does arousal not make your penis hard anymore, then?
And lastly, I used to receive lots of oralsex pre-Peyronie's, so I value it lol... question being:
Does implant change the pleasure or "easyness" of getting blowjobs?
Thanks, lads.

Hi Godisreal. I can answer a couple of your questions. The feel of my penis is the same as before - no nerve ending damage at all. I can't say that for everyone but that has been my experience. My Titan is a semi all day long. To be honest I love that. It just feels like I have a big dick now - all day long. I touch it a lot - not in a perverted way, and hopefully not in view of anyone else, it's just that it feels great all day long. Again, nothing like needing to masturbate or touch it in a sexual way, just a general feeling of contentness, feeling on top of the world. That's not an exaggeration. I feel like the cat that got the cream. I'm very proud of my penis now - flaccid it's big, erect (pumped) it's like a baseball bat. 😁 The nerve endings are intact and if anything, super-sensitive.

When I get turned on, I get the sensation of feeling like I get a hard on, like I did before any of this. The difference now tho is that it's my head that's pumping with blood and that's the sensation I'm feeling. I've done experiments with my wife, asking her to keep touching and playing with me to try and make me erect. I am convinced she will be successful, such is the feeling I get. However, my cavernosa has been 'replaced' by the implant cylinders, so they will never fill with blood again. I ain't complaining tho, as it only takes me giving my balls a squeeze and I've got the mother of all hard ons. One which never goes soft, never fails me and never fails her. What can I say? I'm in love with my bionic dick, have been for 18 months. People reading this must think I'm nuts. Those who have what I have will let out a small chuckle and nod their head. They know exactly what I'm talking about.

That is definitely a great explanation, man. Thank you.
My dick used to be an invincible baseball bat, but then peyronie's cursed me just like it did with everyone else here. However, you (basically) have an indestructible dick right now and i understand how masculine and great that must feel. Just great.
What's the size of your dick? (No homo lol)
Just curious about the implant-size etc.
Also, the people here should just try everything they can and if everything fails just get an implant, not surgery! That's my opinion tho.

If you're willing to put an implant in your penis, you should seek a very experient doctor.

They know the techniques and the little details that inexperienced surgeons are not much aware of, like inserting the end of the implant in your glans to avoid "floppy glans". Also, it's possible to preserve some of your corpus Cavernosum, so this way you can have a "residual erection". The best surgeons know how to do it.

There are negatives, of course, but the worst is having a penis that doesn't work.
I don't think it should be the last resort. I'd choose that instead of injecting trimix into my penis or using cockrings.

I did just think about something else regarding implants.
How does the doctor determine what size is your size? Cause I mean obviously, you're gonna want to maximize as much as possible, right?
And can you go over your pre-Peyronie's length? Because I've seen a few articles about men who got it got a shorter penis post Peyronie's.
I'm personally 6.4 inches pre Peyronie's.
Would an implant get me back to that? Or not?
Thanks again lads. And no Tony, I did not mean anything bad by "homo". My bad.

It is not true that you should not get an implant if you only have curvature and no ED.

If your penis is working OK then you should not consider an implant Badluck.  But if you can't have sex it makes no sense to settle for that and do nothing.  With a great surgeon the chances of infection are less than 1 out of 100.

The chances of priaprism of a Trimix injection is 0.5% and it happened to me, that is why I'm scare of the 1% infection  rate

So I guess you conclude that just because you reacted against the odds for one drug that you will be on the 1% side of every danger existing on the planet?

Any surgery has a risk of infection....any surgery.  The risk of infection with an implant surgery, with a highly regarded surgeon is very low.  Nothing is 100%.  I would say however if you are one of the unlucky few to get an infection, having a highly skilled surgeon there to fix it would be very comforting to me

If you have a good surgeon who recognizes and acts the typical response (there is some variation with the surgeon and with individual cases) usually goes something like:

1. Remove all implant components, flush the entire area with saline and antibiotics. May or may not be accompanied by the immediate insertion of a semirigid implant as a space holder.
2. Continue on antibiotics until it is certain the infection is eradicated.
3. Do a revision removing the semirigid implant and reinstalling another three-piece implant

Well, a surgery to remove it and another to reimplant a new 3-piece implant with a waiting period in between to totally clear up the infection is nothing to minimize.  It is 2 extra surgeries.

I don't want to give the OP anymore things to worry about but I had only heard of one guy who had surgery by my urologist.
He got a very bad infection and nearly died.
He got it removed and ultimately replaced and last I heard he was happy.

I wasn't in the mood to go back to my hometown (prior to 1965) so what the hell, I'll get it done here.
Everything went well and I'm sure what I'd seen was an isolated case.
I also now know my surgeon does plenty of these procedures.

Sometimes we have to make a leap of faith I guess

Great dialog and input in this thread!  What about effects of the implant on non-sexual activities?  Things like exercise, running, riding a bike, or everyday stuff?  Can you lay flat on your stomach when flaccid without the implant getting in the way?

Also curious about "living" with the implant.

I hear the titan is best for Peyronies but also is quite large flaccid. I do miss sleeping on my stomach, is that something that can be done?

Basically, what CAN'T be done? What are the physical limitations both during sex and during day to day life?

There is NOTHING that cannot be done by a man with an implant when you are 100% healed (6 months).  That includes heavy weight lifting, martial arts, dirt bike, horseback riding.  I go horseback riding and moderate weight lifting including split squats, lunges etc.

The Titan gets softer by the month for about 14 months.  I honestly am never aware that I have an implant.  I could sleep on my stomach without any awareness of an implant.
