I have an appointment next month to meet a Peyronies specialist in SC. I am going to set up an appointment to get a Doppler Ultrasound study done and I have some questions for you guys who have had them.

I am honestly terrified that by getting an injection to create an erection that it could cause me to get peyronies scarring at the injection site. It sounds like that’s the only way to get an erection as they won’t let you use viagra etc.

Two questions:

Do you guys think I’m overthinking the injection? I want to have the best and most thorough scan I can so that I can leave there with peace of mind. Have you heard of people getting peyronies because of these injections piercing the tunica? Especially if your already succeptable? I don’t know that I have Peyronies for sure, but I’d sure hate to create it.

Second question; can I get a Doppler ultrasound while flaccid? Is this uncommon? It would make me feel better not to risk piercing my tunica with a needle but I want to make sure that I leave feeling like I got the best analysis possible.

Any advice would be extremely appreciated.

Thank you brothers. 🙏

You are definitely overthinking it. I was very scared too. What you can't forget is to compress the injection site for 5 minutes or more, and then stimulate yourself to achieve an erection. You can do it flaccid, but it definitely doesn't allow the doctor to have the same idea of what's going on in terms of blood flow and fibrosis.

Do get a box of "sudafed" at the local pharmacy. These are nasal descongestants, but do help greatly in case you have an erection that doesn't go down after 4hours. That is called a priapism and you should be well aware of that.

If the ultrasound is to diagnose Peyronies they don’t need to induce an erect ion, only needed to diagnose Erectile Dysfunction.
