I asked him these questions and here are his responses. Should I still go for it? For ex., supposed to be wrapped for 24 hours was my understanding. And I thought was absolutely supposed to be ultrasound guidance and my understanding is also if you have a hematoma the size of a grape, you need to get that drained pronto. No?

1. Will I be wrapped in a coflex wrap for 24 hours after?

No.

2. What do I do if I experience pain that is beyond my ability to tolerate? I am totally opposed to painkillers, but what do I do if I am in a situation where I need them and it is for example 3AM? I will be in a city far from home so I want to know I have options.

As per Dr. Eid you can take over the counter Ibuprofen (you can go up to 600mg).

3. What is the plan if I have a hematoma that needs to be drained or some other issue and it is not during office hours?

As per Dr. Eid nothing to do because it goes away on its own.

4. I know Dr. Eid is a high volume surgeon, but does he have a lot of experience giving xiaflex shots specifically?

Dr. Eid is a high volume surgeon and has a lot of experience giving Xiaflex injections.

5. Does he do the shots by feel or use ultrasound for guidance?

Dr. Eid does it by feel ultrasound guidance not necessary.

Be careful taking Ibuprofen while going through benzo withdrawal. Can throw you back into acute withdrawal temporarily: Ibuprofen set me back!

Good luck with the Xiaflex!

Thanks. I know all about ibuprofen. Affects GABA receptors a bit for me, but usually not too bad. It's difficult to tell what is affecting what chemical-wise sometimes but I don't think nsaids affect me too strongly. Sugar definitely does. MSG definitely does. Anything with high glutamate in it like tomatoes and mushrooms. Magnesium supplements. Vitamin D and B12. Pentox or any stimulant.
