Jaystuart

I am 43 years old and live in Oklahoma.

In the midst of dealing with some still unexplained nerve pain in my back, feet and arms, I mentioned to my neurologist that I was having pain during sex (this developed around 11/2015). The pain only occurred when I was erect.

I was referred to a urologist who quickly diagnosed me with Peyronies. I do not have any curvature. Rather, I have pain, my penis looks mildly dented when erect and it is somewhat shorter than is was (about an inch).

My doctor immediately started me on Pentox. However, that did nothing and the pain increased. He suggested the vermaprimil (sp?) shots, although he said it only helps about 30% of men. After 5 rounds of shots (once every 2 weeks), nothing changed and I developed a second plaque.  At that point, he referred me to a new doctor in town with experience in Peyronies (trained at Mayo in Arizona).  I see him tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the pain has grown, my penis continues to shrink in length, and the plaques seem bigger. I have started Aceytl-l-carnitine. I want to be aggressive with treatment but am not sure what to do next. I'm hoping this doctor has some suggestions.  Thanks for any insights.

Pentox helped some people with pain, but not everyone
Try Ubiquinol. Again helped some, no guaranty will help you.

Did you think about traction/VED?.
Talk about with the new doctor

I don't understand why he suggested the shots. I thought these were only for curvature.

I didn't know about this forum when I got the shots; I was just going with his suggestions. Unfortunately the pain continues such that my body rarely produces erections. But no pain when flaccid.

Welcome Jaystuart,

Pentox did nothing for me other than terrible GI issues and dizziness. I've just started heat and traction along with ALCAR & citrulline malate. Many folks here have had success with VED. I've yet to try, but will. I would suggest you try these routes - traction has some good science behind it. It's a long game though. The protocols are in the relevant sections of the forum.

Cheers,
