hello,
43 yo spaniard living in Paris, I've had Peyronies Disease for around 4 months, I think it's a case of "hourglassing", or maybe "snaking". Very perceptible plaque in the left side, near the base. Less perceptible plaque on the right side, halfway. It's progressing fast, with a very perceptible shortening over the last weeks. A feeling of "this can't be really happening" and growing anxiety.

Three days ago: Urologist in Spain prescribed Cialis, pentox and a traction device prior to xiaflex. He didn't have the time for lots of explanations. He seemed to favor Andropeyronie over Penimaster, but I've been reading about it here and it seems Penimaster is more comfortable. He said to wear it for eight hours during the daytime, but I work long hours in an office and I wonder if that would go unnoticed or be possible at all. I've started reading about VEDs. Maybe I could do four hours traction in the evenings plus VED a couple of times a day.

Today: Urologist in France just prescribed tocopherol prior to possible chirurgical intervention once the acute phase is over. He dismissed traction devices and hadn't heard about xiaflex at all (his secretary by his side googled it for him and he was kind of surprised to see lots of webpages pop up). He told me to take it easy and come back in a couple of months.

I'll keep on reading this forum. A lot of (difficult) information to absorb. I would really appreciate some advice on the traction device issue, maybe I should post the question elsewhere?

Thanks for reading and writing.

Stick with the Urologist in Spain, he is at least up to date with the treatment for the disease. The guy in France is clueless!  A Urologist who has never heard of Xiapex - as its called in Europe??

Traction is certainly worth the time. Of course it's difficult to put in the hours with a conventional device. Firstly, most of them, such as Andropeyronies, can only be worn for 2 hours without a break as they severely restrict blood supply to the penis. If you need something that can be worn for longer, and is the least unobtrusive of devices, look at the Phallosan Forte. It's not perfect, but it may be the best option for you. I would also read the section on VED. It could well be hopeful in your case.

It is important that you fight this now whilst you are still in the active phase. At the very least it should minimize the future damage.
