I just joined this discussion because I was diagnosed with Peyroines a little over a year ago (nov, 2014). It spite of Pentoxifylline it's gotten worse. There's no pain and there's no ED.  Not to be graphic but I used to proud of my penis. I'm 57, diagnosed at 56. My penis, when normal, was 7.5 inches long, had a big girth, and was straight as an arrow.  I've now lost about 50% of its length and girth, although I haven't measured.  It's ugly and deformed.  My sex life is over at 57. And there's no treatment for this other than Xiaflex, which is terribly expensive and controversial. Relationships are a waste of time out of embarrassment of the appearance of my penis.  There's no life left.

Anyone know what to do about depression like I have that makes you want to commit suicide? Are there anti-depressants out there for men who's sex lives end at 57 due to this terrible disease? What troubles me is the doctors think it's no big deal because it's not life threatening. Technically true.   But if I take an overdose of some nice pills and put a Bullit in my head it is life-threatening.

Steven;

First of all, try traction and/or VED therapy alongside the Pentox. If you are still in the active phase, it may well help to remodel the plaque to an extent.

To give you my personal history, I had a severe case of Peyronies. Calcified plaque, almost 90 degree curvature. Like you I had no ED problems, but my dick was unusable sexually as the curvature was so severe. I fought it with everything for over 4 yrs and whilst I improved my personal and penile health to a large extent, the curvature stubbornly remained. As I had nothing left to lose, I investigated Xiaflex but was told it was not recommended in my case due to the degree of curvature. I did elect for surgery using the Egydio technique. I'm happy to report that it seems to have been a success. I'm still recovering to an extent - I'm only 7 weeks post surgery - and I have not regained my full size yet. My erections, however are straight as an arrow again. The traction and VED will hopefully give me back most of my old size in the coming months. Even if I can't regain all of my original size, I will at least have a straight, usable dick once again!

The purpose of relating all this is to say, 'don't despair' there is a solution. I can't pretend it's a cheap one, but all hope is not gone.

You are wrong thinking that your sex life is over at 57!!!
You have to fight this disease and with all your lost your situation is much better that many other sufferers as you have no pain and no ED.
VED,low dose Cialis and Pentox helped me eliminate 3 hourglass, got back 1/2" and some girth even had no treatment in the first 3 years.
Start being proactive, your choices are many

Thanks guys for your help. I need help with the psychological problems. My penis is straight (although when I first got Peyroines it was bent to the left and had indentations in it.  It didn't feel right erect. It was hard and just not normal.  After 1 year it changed and know it's straight but it's shrunken dramatically.  The head bends upward maybe 45 degrees. It can't be more than 3 inches long now when erect.  Maybe 4 at the most. I haven't checked because I don't want to know.

The girth is small too. And it feels hard and funny when erect.  Even flaccid it's hard to hit the toilet. I just pee off the wrong direction. There's not any ED but I have no interest in sex and have pulled away from my partner out of embarrassment. This will probably lead to the end of the relationship.  Pentox is useless.  Traction devices I've heard are also useless. Sex is now just a thing of the past I'll never get back. And Im only 57. It's a shame. I just don't know what to do.

Pentox is not useless, it helped many on the forum.
I had no success with traction, but many members had and many leading urologists prescribing traction.
Regarding:
QuoteI need help with the psychological problems
1. We all or almost all need help on this subject!
2. Start doing something to reverse the symptoms!!! If you will not do nothing, for sure your situation will not get better.

Steven,

I am not trying to be combative, but snap yourself out of it and don't give up. Take the mindset that your are going to kick the crap out of this. You have to hold out hope. I am taking Pentox and using Traction.  Only one week in with Pentox, so I can't say anything yet on it, but the traction has improved my erections, much more firm and I have gained 3/4" in flaccid length, just as important no further loss in erect length, was 6" now about 4 1/4, but that is what I was when my curve started and my curve hasn't gotten worse. Find a competent URO that specializes in Peyronies and have a positive outlook and most importantly lean on your girlfriend or wife because they are an important part of the mental process.

Quakattack, when u say 4 1/4, is that with the curve? Does your overall length decrease and curve? Christ I'm only 2 month's in acute phase and starting to freak out! Does anyone have an average time frame that their penis curved over??

QuackAttack

Peyronies Disease,

Yes it is with curve. The curve reduces your length. I couldn't tell you for sure how long a period curvature takes place. I didn't wait around to find out. Waiting is the last thing you want to do. Get to a Peyronies specialist, see if they will give you a script for a VED or Traction along with Pentox to start.
