Hi all

I'm so glad I found this forum, I've been browsing it for a few weeks now, lots of great info. I'm 40 years old, in the UK, not in a relationship. Here's my story so far:

I don't know if I have peyronie's yet but I've been really depressed about it. I started to have some minor ED issues about 5-6 months ago, my erections are usually perhaps 80-90%. Mainly girth has reduced. Occasionally it was worse than this which I put down to excessive porn usage.

The first thing I actually noticed was a smaller flaccid penis - I seem to have lost at least an inch in length and it looks thinner along the shaft.

A couple of months ago I noticed some hourglassing behind the glans just after ejaculation although this was only really obvious on one occasion. Recently I think I'm getting some upward curvature but I'm not sure about this as it's only slight and I may have always been slightly curved without realising it.

I only recently remembered that (I think) a few months ago I walked into a table with an erection. I've had a couple of knocks over the years but this was the most painful. However, after a few minutes I had completely forgotten about it. Around this time (maybe it was the same day) I noticed that my penis was pinkish and puffy - a bit swollen including the foreskin. Again, I'd forgotten about this by the next time I saw my penis - all must have healed well I assume. I also had an episode where the semen was blocked in the urethra for a second or two during ejaculation and an episode when for some reason I masturbated while fairly soft (this may have been after I bashed it on the table, I can't remember).

I'm now getting more frequent mild soreness around the tip of my penis but mostly on the upper shaft, after erections. The superficial dorsal vein is more pronounced and gives me a mild burning pain some minutes after touching it, lasting a few hours.

I've seen my GP who said my penis looks healthy and has requested a urine test (presumably to check for urinary infection). Depending on the result I'll have to follow up and ask him about Peyronies Disease. I haven't tried any supplements yet but Q10, l-arginine and l-carnitine look promising, from reading this forum. I have a couple of questions about these which I will post later in the correct forum. Alongside this, I have been highly stressed in my job for the last 2 years and have some anxiety issues.

Thanks for reading, I appreciate any advice.

Rich

From your post you may have Peyronies, but you should see a specialist to get a formal diagnosis.
It is made by ultrasound in flaccid.
Regarding treatment, in your age I was starting Ubiquinol, more expensive than CoQ10 but more effective at your age.
Take to your appointment printout of researches regarding VED, Pentox and low dose Cialis.
You may find them here:
Peyronie's Disease Resource Library - PDS - Peyronies Society Forums
Last, don't give up because have solution to this disease.

Thank you James, much appreciated. There's some good resources on that page, so I will have a look.

Another newcomer welcomes you, Rich  :)

I've found plenty of quality information and support in reading all the information that is posted in this forum. Reading others' stories helps as well, as you feel you're not alone and also tend to put in perspective your own situation.

Alongside this, I have been highly stressed in my job for the last 2 years and have some anxiety issues.
Same here, there could be some relationship between anxiety leading to an autoimmune malfunction that could contribute in the appearance of Peyronies. I will elaborate this in another post to discuss it further.

Don't forget to have a look at the information for new members.
First onset: January 2014, at the age of 31. Lasted 16 months. | Treatment: Q10 (ubiquinol) + Acetyl-L-Carnitine | Result: 15ยบ curvature to right and narrowing at the base.

Thanks Caesar! Yes, I've found reading others' stories really helpful. There are so many affected people but it's great to see their optimism.

I think you are right about anxiety playing a part in this so I'm looking forward to your post.

Thanks Les, that's a very uplifting story! I'm pleased that you've come out of it feeling so positive.

The result of my urine test came back and it's clear so I've made another appointment with my doctor to try to find out what's going on and hopefully get a referral.
